ugh yes they're such a great family. the shen kids are all talented af and i LOVED seeing them together. it was so wholesome and made me become so attached to the family. i do have to admit the mother can and will become a huge bother at the second half of the drama but i don't mind t h a t much. i love how they fight with swords randomly/for fun, it really enforces the acknowledgement of their skills and i love to see just some lighthearted non-violent sparring (?) especially with lige and her father. that part was epic bahaha i laughed when shen tingzhang snatched leqing's handkerchief and used it to wipe lige's sweat off. i especially like that tingzhang isn't one to be blown away by lies. he just trucks through everything and i'm ngl he's in prison/danger for more time than you see leqing and her nasty glares that trigger eyerolls. now i'm seriously just depressed because the shen family gets so much crap hurled at them. i don't think i'll recover from episode 42..

..but are we talking about different actors? li qin is a stunning actor in both wire work and expressing/portraying characters well. she makes lige so complete. i get that cdramas don't always look for the top quality in everything they do, yeah it happens, but don't be rude about it. i'd respect your opinion so much more if you were respectful about it. no that isn't sugar coating, that's just not insulting others and making blatent statements. there's a huge difference between just speaking normally and being rude.

totally agree. i respect the actress and her ability to portray leqing so well, especially when she tries to be manipulative. tbf she's way better written than maybe changle/changru from the sister drama "the princess weiyoung." they're even more toxic and less direct with their means. no matter how messed up shen leqing was, i do respect that her delusional love for liu yikang was pretty useful sometimes.

i do think that jingling betrays them at some point. it was in a trailer when he became a totally different person and wanted liu yikang dead. i guess that's his change

shen tingzhang is such a great dad. a righteous general and a loving father who raises just and talented children (not cockroach sister ofc, she isn't a part of this LOL). i was heartbroken when he died. lige's pain made me feel so sad :( i hope she finds out who killed shen tingzhang and 大哥

well i don't think she would really be able to. that counts as an evil deed in a few ways and she def. would have been exposed for it. remember, her mother is hysterical. if she ever finds out FL killed leqing she'd go crazy. there's a big difference between "she died trying to kill me (episode 30-31)" and "i killed her."

ugh ikrrrr. this is the first drama i actually cried to (when liu yikang was taking care of lige when she was unable to move/speak) because you could actually see the sadness in hiseyes. i also saw in a trailer when her father and older brother died, she was crying and it really hurt me :( her acting is so real and actually makes me emotional.

i dunno if you're there yet but lu yuan's dad dies for him and he gets demoted, which greatly lowers his morale for some time. as for a lot of other things he's honey-mouthed enough to get out of it but the consequences aren't too irritating.

hmm that's a really cool point! for me i felt that it was nice she wasn't 100% evil, maybe just 95%. i liked how she wanted the best for peng cheng wang even if she was working under his mom. i still hate her regardless (she really doesn't stop her evil ways) but it was interesting to see her character depth!

what's your problem with the chinese film industry? do you even know how it works? just stop watching chinese content if you have such a big problem with it. do you have experience being in the chinese film industry? do you personally know anyone there? do you even know what most mainland chinese people like/dislike and look for in cdramas? i don't mind you having your opinion, i respect it. but i suggest you keep the insults to yourself. it just degrades your opinion and to read it is mad embarrassing. sorry if it's harsh but the things you say can be really rude. you trying to generalize the entire chinese film industry by calling them idiotic or void of brain is hella annoying. just stop looking at content if it upsets you so much. your negativity really isn't needed.

lmao stop being plain rude to JJY and the directors. you have no idea what they're thinking about and have no idea what they've been told to do while filming. if you have a problem then stop watching and spreading negativity, it's offputting and extremely rude. most dramas don't actually have perfect logic. this is sort of a rom-com in a few ways so obviously they're looking to make everyone seem oblivious to JJY cross-dressing. idk what your problem is with the people that worked on this show because JJY just did what she was supposed to do according to the script.
