Lol, I just take a lot of time analyzing societal behaviors thru media. I've been to Korea several times, and my observations are actually supported by the behavior of locals and strangers I met in Seoul and it's neighboring cities.
Light-hearted fares like this, Drinking Solo, Let's Eat 1 and 2 is so refreshing. The typical Korean convoluted storylines and plot twists get tiresome sometimes. It's such a relief to just watch and zone out and not worry about some evil second lead. Is it just me or does Jang Dong Hoon cannot act sympathetic enough? I always want to see an anvil fall on his head.
Random comment but this show confirms that tvN really is the best network for korean dramas. They really make…
Well, except that Kang So Ra crap with Choi Siwon, "Revolutionary Love." Acting so terrible I wanna gag. Pacing so bad, I thought I was watching a drama created by MBC that was a 16-episode drama, expecting a 4 episode extension, but not getting it.
Yesssss. Her turn in Pinocchio made me fall in love with her. Been aching to see her as a lead (in something good)…
The thing is, she's so cute, adorable and funny (even in Pinocchio, where I fell in love with her), she's on a Park Bo Young or Lee Sung Kyung level of delicious.
Just like to say that Korean Society sucks balls. If everything in this drama is represented accurately, I'd kill myself if I lived in Korea. They live in a modern westernized society with backwards eastern values. Their society is ruled by money, greed and cowardice and they're not ashamed to hide it. In the USA or at least in other parts of the world, society is also ruled by money, greed and cowardice, but at least it's governed by a sense of propriety. The best adjectives to describe their society would be: OBTUSE, UNABASHED, CALLOW.
Finally, a drama with Lee Kwang Soo as the lead that exhibits his acting skills rather than his comedic skills. His last few dramas that I saw (except Entourage, coz that sucked and I didn't bother watching it), portrayed him as a goofy-ass character, the same character he portrays in Running Man. It's unnerving at first, how silly it is to see him in such a serious role, but it clearly shows off his acting chops. HOWEVER, he can never pull-off a romantic male lead if his life depended on it. He's too freakin' tall. Unless the female lead is Lee Da Hae, Kwang Soo will always look like he's bowing when going in for a romantic kiss.
Last Holy Week, I needed something that wasn't too heavy. I saw the rating on this drama, and although it was incomplete, I gave it a try, coz I was still waiting for new episodes of "Live" and "A Poem a day" (coz I love me some Lee Kwang Soo and Lee Yu bi). "My Ahjusshi" was shaping up to be a depressing drama, and I won't be bothered by that. In the middle of the first episode, I think I bust my butt laughing. The last time I laughed that hard at a drama was "Sound of your heart" and "Strong Girl Do Bong Soon."
I always liked Lee Yi Kyung in his bit parts, also Go Won Hee in "Strongest Delivery Man," but they destroyed me in this drama. Self-image be damned, they are effin' hilarious! Kinda sad that I have to wait 3 more weeks before it ends, but kinda happy as well that I get to watch 6 more episodes.
Well, i watched it and the thing is that i couldn't get over he fact that they changed the main actress. The show…
I wouldn't say that Eun Jae was the main character as each girl has equal billing. It's Ji Won's time to shine, and she was breath-takingly bright. The new Eun Jae is a better actress, IMHO. the old actress was very one-dimensional. I hated her so much in Introverted Boss, and that drama exposed her short-comings as an actress.
ugh i really want to watch but the new eun jae bores me and is super annoying? not the script just her face in…
Yeah, totally worth it. Ji Won is by far the best character in this season. The new girl Eun is super cute too. Do yourself a favor and watch every minute of it. It's so much better than Season 1. The hype is real.
I just saw the first 2 episodes. As expected from a TVN outing, this is a bit on the quirky side. It has a bitter-sweet tone, with a palpable desperation coming from the characters. This view makes the main leads more grounded and relatable.
