Fifth watch, and each time I find more details in the story, identify with the characters more strongly, and spend the whole film with my heart in my throat, in a good way.
Oh my gosh, I haven't the words to say how dearly I love this film, or how much I appreciate the work of the two leads. Sensational. These two characters live in my heart.
Night Flight remains always and perhaps forever at the top of my best gay-themed Asian films list.
Recommended as highly as a film can be recommended. Watch it. 11/10
If you want to see a crystal-clear print of this flick, leave a reply and I'll fill you in.
Yes, it made no sense to leave all the drama just for the last episode, and I don't get it...was beating the crap…
Yeah, I agree with most of all that. The couple certainly made that choice...and I would not have done the same. But again...lots of people make choices I don't like or agree with, which doesn't mean people like that shouldn't be in live-action fictional dramas.
Some fictional outcomes SHOULD be frustrating; that's how life is.
As creepy as his sound in writing, it's the teacher and his student. But don't let that scare you off. The teacher…
Oh yeah, I agree with your statement. I blame the director, not the actor though. It's the director's job to ask the actor to dial back on the his efforts to make his character seem "young," as I'd guess he's been asked to do. The director needs to tell him "OK, let's go for an occasional flash of 16-year-old behavior, and leave the 5-year-old behavior out of it." :)
The high school guy is cute but what we see of his personality are mostly public displays of affection that could get the teacher in trouble, a whiny neediness, and tantrum-throwing. I don't see anything in this character that the teacher as he is presented, would be attracted to. He can't have adult conversations with him, or confide in him and ask for advice, receive comfort in his struggles, etc.. No time for any of that when he is constantly reacting to the latest bit of acting out from the student. :D
Where did you watch it? And if what you say is true, who the hell added all the gay tags above before they even…
Is it possible they're still whitewashing it during the promotional period to lure in as many non-BL audience members as possible, and then boom!, we get a big gay surprise when the show starts airing?
I have not read the Manwha but it seems strange in the extreme to take a gay-themed, written source, strip it of its gay main relationships, and turn it into a straight story. I mean, there are loads of straight material out there to be adapted, right? Why go to all the trouble of rewriting a gay plot?
Also, it seems the author would be horrified to see their work bastardized. On the other hand, it's likely they sold the Manwha, releasing the adapters to do as they pleased with it. I suppose I'd do the same unless I were established, well-known, and didn't need money. :P
I was planning on watching this sports BL since I play tennis but then everyone seems to hate it so maybe not.
Maybe give it a shot when you have absolutely nothing else to do. Go in with zero expectations and standards lowered to zero and who knows?, maybe you won't hate it.
First off, dismissing the entire drama after one episode is just ridiculous. You’re acting like one imperfect…
Are you schizophrenic and off your meds? That would explain a LOT.
YOU are the one who used the phrase "twitter rant on steroids," psycho. Are you in a blackout of some sort? Do you need aid?
This is you above: "Newsflash: You don’t get to rant like a Twitter thread on steroids and then act like you’re above the conversation. You are the conversation."
You know, I have a friend who is quite severely manic-depressive. Could that be it? Cause they don't remember what they do or say from one episode to the other either. :)
"As for the wrinkled collar thing, I wasn’t the one throwing it around like some kind of philosophical statement." There you go, listening to the voices again. A philosophical statement? Really? lol
Hey Pariah, does this sound familiar? Again, this is you: "And the costumes? You’re focusing on the wrong details. The styling choices are deliberate. The oversized blazers, the polished-yet-subtly-messy looks—it’s all designed to reflect the characters’ personalities and social standings. If you think it’s random, you’re not paying attention."
Yeah, that was you...YOU are the one who elevated the costuming to the level of a "philosophical statement" deliberately being made by the costumer and director. Seriously, do you need me to call 911 for you? Are you in crisis? I'd call if I knew where you were, if only for the safety of those around you.
As for you being a "good writer," you left out the carefully-chosen word "fairly." Don't flatter yourself.
Reach out for assistance soon please. I want you to be around for me to belittle and insult as we move forward.

"They wrote as if they are "stating facts everyone should agree with." Could you take a few moments of your valuable time to explain where in my comment above I did what you accuse me of in the quote above, and HOW and where I did that? A careful re-read will reveal, perhaps even to you, that I did no such thing.
Perhaps you feel...threatened and insecure and thus are listening to voices in your head instead of reading the words on your screen?
Oh gosh...there I go again...belittling and insulting. Dear me.
"... and oh, everyone is gay""I'd hope for an affair between the two but our screenwriter is clearly not that…
hahahahahaha...oh heavens help us, somebody somewhere disliked the work of a screenwriter and insulted them for it! How will the Earth continue to turn? How will the sun rise in the East tomorrow?
Actually, I believe " a first-time fujoshi-scribe slumming in BL world" is quite creative indeed.
Episode 2:omg...did anyone else LOL when his nose bled at the beginning? "Help, someone, anyone! I just saw my…
The hate doesn't bother me; considering the types it comes from it's actually a good sign. But I'm well aware it's there. In truth, I have become much more restrained in reacting to the spitballs than I used to be. Brief retorts work best and take less time. :) And there's always the block option. :)

yah it does matter. A lot. Words have meaning. Use them correctly or stop commenting. It only showcases your ignorant self-righteousness.
It's what people like you find hot in the dark recesses of their minds, while pontificating about what other people should or shouldn't feel, that is the problem.

This twitter rant on steroids, your second in this conversation, IS beneath me. If you thought a near-endless string of pompous, snotty insults reacting to shit you made up in your head would get under my skin, you thought wrong.
It's revealing and hilarious that you see "I dare you to tell me a wrinkled collar is a designer choice," after asserting that very thing, as being an over-the-top challenge.
You're a fairly good writer. It is unfortunate you put your talents to use here in service to such poorly conceived nonsense.

It is all in HOW the stupidity, lack of communication, etc. is written that makes all the difference, and it is poorly written and cliche here. There is NOTHING understated going on here. If people can't communicate, write me a new/believable/intriguing reason WHY they can't. If people can't talk things through, convince me it is for believable, intriguing psychological or practical reasons I haven't seen before.
What's going on here is the simple BL tactic of showing us characters who don't communicate because that's what is in the script, nothing more.
Another aspect often overlooked is that inexplicable, hard-to-believe behavior on a page with drawings and thought balloons can be believable there in a way it simply is not when transformed into live action, a necessarily much more REAL environment.
It's much easier to believe a psycho character acts psycho and a gullible character doesn't tell them to fuck off on paper, because paper, balloons, and drawings are an abstract world. It takes hard work and creativity to put that same story in a live-action format and make it work. More BLs than not fail at this. But with undemanding, lazy viewers like you, they don't need to try very hard. I'm guessing they're thankful for your low standards.

Educate yourself.
Meanwhile, stop tossing around words you don't understand the meaning of.
And "welp," (did you deliberately insert that word to make yourself sound...dim?), people are free to be simple-minded too.
You don't like to think...got it.
Stick to K-dramas. Films of this quality are wasted on you.
It's revealing and hilarious that you see "I dare you to tell me a wrinkled collar is a designer choice," after asserting that very thing, as being an over-the-top challenge.
