You are a big fat, pants on fire, lying liar.
"Just ain't right..." That's about as willfully stupid as it gets. I know...thinking is hard. Empathy and understanding of others is even harder.

I repeat: you're a self-righteous, Puritanical Church Lady who imagines life and people are just that simple. You're also 18 which means you haven't lived yet. But then, there are lots of self-righteous, Puritanical Church Ladies my age too.

As I said, it doesn't matter where you live, you sound just like an American Little Girl New-Prude.

Oh, and you haven't experienced sex yet either. Maybe zip it regarding things you know nothing about.

Person Ah Ben
My mouth dropped open at the bottom of Ben's bio info. FORTY-TWO? wtf? How is this possible? I thought he was in his early 20s. Wow. I'm flabbergasted. No sign of plastic surgery either. :D

Great job in DYAWCS, Ben! A true original!

I'm gay. I only bring hot men down to my basement water bed.

People have affairs for all kinds of reasons, depending on the individual's makeup and individual characteristics. But you use the self-righteous, judgmental words "cheat" and "disgusted," which lazily puts every person and every situation in the same evil, black/white basket. You do that because pretending the universe is black/white means you don't have to think, empathize, or understand. You can simply judge, condemn and be done with it.

The universe is a rainbow of grays.

I used the word "probably" for a reason, nit-wit.

From a reply to another commenter: "The sex-phobic psycho ranter above may be a Western SJW/Puritan female bl fan. That demo makes up about 27% of MDL's membership and a huge part of the international BL fan base. They often attempt to impose their self-righteous, sex-is-icky, Church Lady standards on BL producers but I don't think they're making progress. Unfortunately, I have to live in the U.S. with a lot of these young Neo-Puritans."

This passage is about YOU. It doesn't really matter where you live, you sound exactly like them.

Bravo! Thanks for giving those stupid links she provided the attention I knew they didn't deserve. I didn't click on any of them because I know none of the people this psycho is trashing have been charged, tried, or convicted of anything.

Now...I do have to say that I'm a big BL and Asian gay cinema fan, BUT I avoid almost everything out of Thailand and the Philippines because it's 99% garbage. Thailand made a lot of groundbreaking, early, good BLs in the 2010s but since then it's been downhill all the way. They turn out BLs like I turn out turds. And theirs stink worse.

Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, thankfully, are stepping up to fill the BL gap and their stuff is getting better all the time.

The good, old-fashioned, original, gay smut-loving BL fan fujoshis in Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and the rest of Asia will hopefully hold the line against the little American girls.

So...yeah. Those links are worthless. None of them were charged, tried, or convicted of anything. Yet, somehow YOU know better than everyone else what went down. You're a lying liar, just as I said above.

Did you know ACCUSATIONS are not evidence, nor facts?

Seungri was never charged, tried, or convicted of any kind of sexual assault or rape either. For the other convictions he paid a huge fine and served 18 months in jail. He paid for his mistakes, and no one cares that you think he should be in prison for life and tortured daily to feed your disturbing sexual revenge fantasies.

My mom's basement is cool. Wall-to-wall, shag carpeting, faux wood paneling, three computer monitors, awesome game consoles, stereo, kitchen, shitter, wet bar, giant big screen, and more. My mom loves me.

Squid Game have the best marketing team - this is one of the good examples where they waited for the tide to turn…
A "little" extreme? Korea has driven dozens of celebrities to suicide over the last 25 years, like no other country on Earth. The media, netizens, public are insanely vicious, and regularly make demands of their celebrities that are considered WAY out of bounds almost anywhere else that has an active entertainment culture. There is a mile-wide Puritanical streak hangover from the days of the military dictatorships that forced their "morality laws" on the country.

Meanwhile, Korea has the highest rates of alcoholism and suicide in the developed world; twice that of the U.S. for example. The pressure on everyone is crazy, and it's multiplied by a hundred if you're famous.

I have watched quite a few Korean films set DURING the Korean War, but not many if any, set in the immediate aftermath. In that regard, this was a welcome new perspective.

Both MLs are excellent, as are all supporting characters. A few cliches showed up but none that put me off the film as a whole. I liked that what I thought would become a typical friends-to-enemies tale, with one all-good and the other evil, didn't go that way. I love films that deal with reality: shades of gray.

Production values are first-rate. I was particularly impressed with the real feel of the street settings and the hundreds of extras, something that is always crucial to pulling off a story set in a bustling, crowded city environment.

Person Won Bin
I have no idea why he stepped away, although I'm about to research to see if I can find out. Being a celebrity…
Are your balls really that huge? I've heard otherwise.

"But it's still only a few in total..." No, it's not "a few," it is one after another after another and if you bothered to educate yourself about it, you would know that to be true. American celebs kill themselves very rarely, especially when compared to Korea. Jesus, it says all that need be said that I have to tell you this. But then, it's clear you are among the WILLFULLY ignorant.

The U.S. has tons of problems, #1 being the douche bag that was just re-elected to become our new dictator, and I don't defend the country for any of those things. Our suicide rate is one of the things that doesn't need defending.

U.S. suicides per 100,000: 14.2
Korea suicides per 100,000: 27.3 (nearly double the U.S. rate, and the highest rate by far among OECD nations. I know you don't know what OECD nations are but you have google too)

Why are you playing around with raw numbers when you know the U.S. population, at 336M, is more than SIX times that of Korea, at 52M? lol Gosh, it almost seems as if your comment is meant to mislead and obfuscate. hahaha

Finally, your hilarious attempt to compare Hollywood to Korea's entertainment complex regarding forced sex/negotiated sex/sexual harassment/rape/etc. is laughable. If you do any research/reading at all, which you clearly don't, you'd know that all of those things are standard operating procedure in Korea just as they are everywhere movies and music are made. Not defending it by any means; just injecting the ugly reality into your fantastical BS.

I suggest you stop trying to defend the indefensible. If your shriveled up little testicles were actually "huge," you wouldn't feel the need to do so.

You are a moron. (Just resorting to your level of insult, nothing more. You might actually be merely stupid.) So now, you have reduced the meaning of "masterpiece" to something that moves a genre in some direction, no matter what it is or to what degree.
Yours is an excellent example of how loosely the term "masterpiece" is used here on MDL, to the point where it means nothing. Thanks for illustrating my point better than I have.
Replying to adriana Jan 13, 2025
it is a masterpiece, nothing to do with bad buddy btw.
I love ITSAY and IPYTM too. They're near the top of my best BL series list. I have never called them "masterpieces" because even though I rated them 10/10, they are not without flaw. Your mileage may vary.

OK, well I disagree with about half of your analysis. I'm ok with that.
