it is a masterpiece, nothing to do with bad buddy btw.
No, never heard that. I "like" this film a LOT. That does not make it a "masterpiece." You're avoiding the questions and the point at hand, so I'll move on.

So...would you say absolutely everything about this movie, every single possible little thing, is perfect? This is the film equivalent of Michelangelo's "David?"
First half: Quirky, distinctive, funny, and interesting. Second half: Increasingly disjointed, slow, and eventually, absolutely terrible. It's as if two different people wrote and directed each half. The first person should be praised. The second person should be shot.
The near-end beach scene was endless, dull, boring af and just plain weird with terrible acting, pacing, and dialogue. There is a great idea and concept going on there but it is executed in the worst possible way. That Aihara chick should be institutionalized, and not just for bad acting. There is nothing about her that explains Yoshida's interest in her, which comes out of nowhere.
Skip it altogether or maybe watch the first half and skip the rest.
Yes, but I forgot it has a $2 per month fee. I find it worthwhile because I find enough series and flicks there I don't see anywhere else. However, here is a link to the film on a free site. Enjoy!
I love this movie, but I wish MDLers would stop calling everything above average a "masterpiece." This flick is excellent and far above average, but on MDL it is classified as a "masterpiece" right along with the BL "Bad Buddy," which tells you all you need to know.
True but many persons lack sympathy for Mo because when she confessed to Kam that Sek actually loved him instead…
It's not black or white. She was used, and she used and plotted and lied in return. She made choices that were not forced upon her.
However, Sek could have assured her she would be provided with from regular proceeds from the orchard; he could have put that in writing legally too. A lot of these characters made bad choices...like real people do.
The worst choice Satur made was not to pull the mother's written hand-over of the property to Mo off the wall and throw it in the fire pit right in front of her.
This is the same director as ITSAY… No wonder it was amazing from cinematography down to acting.
oh my gosh, thanks for pointing that out. I did not know. So THIS is what he's been doing since IPYTM. Those two shows are near the top of my best BLs list. In a class of their own, especially compared to most of the crap BLs that come out of Thailand regularly.
First of all the chemistry between Keng and Jeff THEY WERE INSANE!! Their chemistry was sooo great and would not…
I agree that the chemistry is there, but unfortunately, I feel his character is way underdeveloped. I don't know much about him or what he was like other than how he interacted with Satur.
You can’t really hate Mo. And I hate that fact. You can understand her character and her decisions but it will…
I don't agree that she "lost ten years of her life." She was taken care of and provided for. Furthermore, she spent ten years plotting to help her "husband" screw over his "husband," so it's a bit much to feel sorry for her.
Looking at the comments here and discussions online, I'm so heartbroken that a lot of ppl say that Mo deserved…
Oh please. Yes, I get where her bitterness and envy came from, but all she had to do was take care of the mom, be a decent person, and ask Satur's character for help. He would have given it to her in a heartbeat, especially after he fell in love with her brother. But the mom and she were out to take the orchard ALL for themselves from the moment they saw it, cutting out Satur's character cold after five years and all his money. She chose evil and karma kicked her ass.
In truth, I had mixed feelings toward her, given the extreme poverty of her origins and I'm OK with that. I think a thinking person is intended to have mixed feelings about her. That's part of the movie's message
People who don't like to think much and prefer to pretend the universe exists in black and white are the ones who leave comments like the ones that annoyed you. Ignore them. They're far too numerous on MDL to bother with.
Give Jeff Satur an Oscar NOW. Best gay-themed (although there were many other important themes here too) flick out of Thailand since "Bangkok Love Story," and far better than that one.
I was gripped from start to finish. First-rate production values across the board. A few slight plausibility issues, but nothing that is going to prevent me giving this a high rating. Satur is a fantastic, natural, instinctive actor who along with his singing career, appears to be out to save the Thai entertainment industry singlehandedly. The FL is a very good actor, but sorry, I couldn't stop staring at her nose job and collagen trout mouth.
Overall, the way this started, then built and built and built on jealousy, envy, poverty, desperation, mendacity, and more and then exploded into a film noir carnival of madness near the end was fantastic and reminds me of something out of Hollywood 1940s melodramas. This is not a negative criticism. I loved it.
Two minor quibbles: A bit more time showing the original couple's life together would have made all that was to come all the more powerful and shocking. I'd like to have seen more character development and background regarding Mo's brother.
I'm back my most eloquent, humorous, playful human! Hope you've missed me. #Snigger. As always, you've cut to…
Hey there! Have you heard of or seen the new Thai movie "The Paradise of Thorns?" I am watching it right now but took a break to pee about 2/3 of the way through and thought I'd tip you off. It's the best gay film out of Thailand since "Bangkok Love Story," unless I'm forgetting another one.
Jeff Satur is going to singlehandedly save the Thai entertainment industry. He is superb in the lead role. Its production values, script, score, pretty much everything is of a caliber I'm not sure I've seen in a gay Thai film before. It has an MDL page.
You can watch it at the link below this comment. Enjoy!
You've got a lot of anger and condemnatory, vicious words and yet...and yet...still no links to facts showing that TOP or Seungri were ever charged, tried, or convicted of sexual assault. And those links won't be forthcoming because you are a LYING LIAR.
Do you have to clean yourself up after writing each one of these hilarious rants? Does doing so provide stimulus...down there?
sometimes the biggest enemy of women is another woman who supports and encourages bad behaviour like tops. thank…
hahahaha...still waiting for links to the information proving that Seungri or TOP were ever charged, tried, or convicted of any form of sexual assault at all. Come on, put aside your embarrassing, hysterical, I am woman hear me roar bullshit and provide some facts to back up what you say.
One fact is that you're not interested in facts, but only in rubbing yourself while pretending to imagine the crimes the people you trash have committed only in your fevered, sick imagination.
sometimes the biggest enemy of women is another woman who supports and encourages bad behaviour like tops. thank…
hahahaha...what a poser. You think you're a radical resister of predators and rapists or something, but you're merely a self-righteous, sex-phobic fangirl getting off on her imagined moral superiority.
I'm not going to argue with you because you're a dolt. However, I am going to point out that once again you have thrown around the words "predator," "abusers," and "rapists" without specifying who you're talking about and what specific charges you're alleging. You're doing that because your far more interested in touching yourself with self-righteous fantasies, than in referencing reality.
I'm a gay male by the way and if anything, I'm the "oppas" to the hot guys you pretend are rapists. Fantasies are standard, harmless thoughts that almost all humans have. Did you know that 67% of women frequently or occasionally fantasize about forced sex of various kinds? No, you didn't know that. It's clear from your Puritanical, masturbatory rant that you don't know much at all.
I wonder what kind of sex fantasies you have but will never admit to...I wonder if Seungri is in any of them. Maybe that's why you're so angry. lol
"Stay Away From Me" is holding up very well these eight years later. Every time I watch it, and I believe this was the third, it moves me more deeply than the last time. Strangely, it didn't make an impression several years ago, but it sure does now. I felt a strong connection between the leads. The fujoshi was cute too, even though she was WAAAAAY out of line with the stunt she pulled. lol It's hard to argue that she didn't bring them together by forcing the issue, though.
I know Duke Wu is supposedly the idol in this story, but it's Edison Song who's more the hottie. Wow, that jawline and strong nose...yum. He's the type that's going to get more and more handsome as he ages.

Please stop saying "masterpiece."
Thank you.
