In my opinion, the only good Thai BLs are the older originals, some of which are on my list. Enjoy! Another Thai…
Oh yes, that series is definitely on the darker, more adult side of BL. Which is of course, why I love them. You'll find many of the shows on my list have a dark edge though there are definitely a few fun/brighter ones too.
On edit: Just remembered that about a year ago I moved Mood Indigo and The Novelist over to my Best Gay Feature Films list for exactly the reasons you mentioned: Though they were released as series, they both FEEL like films to me; and it seemed silly to have them in a BOYS Love list.
awwwww thanks! Just in time for me causei ve just started thai bls and searching for suggestions!
In my opinion, the only good Thai BLs are the older originals, some of which are on my list. Enjoy! Another Thai classic which didn't make my list is "Love By Chance." Skip the sequel though. A nightmare.
I was SO happy zongbie survived! I was actually upset when he used the cig lighter. :D Kim Nam Gil always slays. It was fun to watch him play such a crazy role. Jung Ga Ram is a hottie, even zombified.
Don't expect anything but a silly but well-done zombie spoof and have a ball!
hahahaha...ahh...the sad, pathetic "America BAD" whine of the chronically insecure, threatened, jealous little child. As for "brattitude," good god, are you ever projecting. Your comments here are the definition of bitchy brat.
hmmm...I found the positive but also open ending a bit frustrating...but I'm OK with that frustration. I was also frustrated with Minase at the wedding party, but impressed that Haruki so masterfully backed off without making a big deal out of it. Minase wants what he wants so badly, but he's also not ready...which is...frustrating. But life is often frustrating.
Some of the kissing throughout the show was lacking, but this is Japan, after all. However, that lackluster smooching was all the more jarring because the acting and emotional connection that led up to it each time were so genuine. Passion, electricity...mannequin kiss. No, please.
That said...SEQUEL PLEASE.
I hope to see a lot more from these two fine young actors, and not just in BLs. It was nice to see them both in hairstyles that flatter their good looks. Asia should ban bowl cuts. :)
What phenomenal acting; some of the best I've seen in a BL over the last four and a half years. Both leads are tremendously invested, in the moment, and in the character. I rarely if ever, saw them "acting." The most defining element that takes their work together to another level is that there is no rushing of lines. Many times one or the other takes time to react and/or formulate what they're about to say before they say it. But unlike in countless Thai BLs, those quiet moments are full because you SEE on their faces and in their eyes the process they are going through. Rather than slowing down the dialogue, those full-to-the-brim space expand and deepen it. Truly remarkable.
The two of them in bed together, bare-skinned, was a beautiful thing to behold. And there again in that scene, there was a loooooooooong moment of silence between dialogue during which they simply drank each other in with their eyes. Extraordinary. I do wish the director had allowed us to go with them a bit further into their lovemaking. It would be lovely to see these two physically expressing what they feel for each other. I would have had to get out my paper towels for sobbing, but I'd be perfectly fine with that.
Minase's drunk scene was especially masterful. I saw none of the lame over-acting or cliche "I am really drunk" mannerisms most actors fall back on. Yet he was believably, calmly drunk. That's not easy to do.
I'm gay as the Christmas goose, weirdo. And you need to consider getting over yourself. You're a hysterical fanatic, every bit as all-caps crazy as any dick-phobic fujoshi. No one died and made you Queen of Queers, qualified to make decrees and issue orders.
What an embarrassing, shrieking stereotype you are.
Lame. The dad seems only slightly annoyed that his daughter has disappeared, quite possibly into the realm of the dead, rather than being nearly-mad with grief and fear that a parent would be, even this mostly absent one. Then, once the kids come out to play, we get into STUPID territory. What you CANNOT see but suspect is there is far more terrifying than child actors in haunted house makeup. I'm a big fan of Kim Nam Gil, and Ha Jung Woo's no slouch, but they can't pull this script off, especially since we don't get to see KNG naked.
Potentially engaging plot betrayed by the problem at the heart of all such cross-dressing sagas: No seeing-eyed person would fail to recognize this young "man" as a young woman on first sight. It's absurd to pretend otherwise, yet that pretense is the core of the film. The outcome is predictable from the start.
Beautiful sets, costumes, and cinematography are wasted in service of an insulting premise often conveyed with over-the-top melodrama and spotty acting from the FL. Her crying/grief scenes were embarrassing.
The star of this show is Kim Nam Gil's butt, butt we don't get to see enough of it. His charm and charisma are effective though. Kim Young Ho as the master is quite good too.
Overall, a fail. 6/10, and two of those points are for KNG's ass.
History goes way before Oct 7, you ignorant moron. Go look up "nakba" and read some more history. I'm sorry that…
lol How many people have "BEEN FUCKING KILLED" since October 7th, you tiny-brained, ignorant moron? It's long past time for "Palestinians" to quit playing victim and start acting like adults who are ready to establish a government and exist in a stable, civilized way alongside Israel, which is never going away, instead of throwing disastrous temper tantrums that get thousands of their own people killed.
When do you leave to join you Hamas buddies in fighting the Evil Israeli Occupiers in Gaza instead of throwing spitballs from behind your keyboard?
open your eyes and wake up!!!Israel has been bombing Gaza for yearsjust watch the news thousands of children in…
Good day to you, loser Jew-hater!
Could you point out for me on a map the borders of this "country" you call Palestine? I'm curious to see where they are.
Thanks for another laugh at your silly little genocidal, anti-Jew chant "From the river to the sea...blah blah blah blah will be free..." It's cute, especially because it will never happen. lol
Also, could you share your opinion on why it is that Egypt nor any other Arab country will accept your "Palestinian" countrymen into their lands, not even on a temporary, emergency basis during the ongoing situation? Could you explain your understanding, or lack thereof, of what has happened in the Arab countries that DID accept "Palestinians" into their borders during the last 76 years?
Oh well...I'll save you the time: Palestinians bring with them mayhem, murder, and chaos everywhere they go. They are uninterested in improving the lives of their "people." They live for war, killing, and treachery. Lebanon allowed Arafat and his vermin into the country and soon had an armed uprising against the government on its hands.
Repeat that story a few times and now you know why NO Arab country is taking in Palestinians from Gaza. Now you know why Egypt has STRENGTHENED its border with Gaza and has spent the last 14 months destroying the rat tunnels Hamas used to smuggle arms and munitions in from Egypt. NO ONE wants the "Palestinians" because they are a destabilizing, vicious, maniacal mob of killers.
October 7th proved that once again: For a few hours of murdering Jews that accomplished NOTHING, all of Gaza has paid with devastation. THAT is how Palestinians think.
Finally, can you explain when you will be hauling your cowardly ass to Gaza to help kill the Zionist Occupation Invaders?
I barely skimmed your rant. I know what happened in the movie and I'm not arguing with an unhinged label police person. Seek treatment.
IT'S A BL! Deal with it.

Goodness...the PASSION. In a Jbl, no less. Bravo!
