Meh...can't deal with this. The FL comes off as mousey in every role I've seen her in. So here, where she's supposedly some kind of man-magnet, it feels ridiculous. Too bad, because I like the ML and supporting actor Emoto Tasuku but they're not enough to overcome the weakness of the FL in this part. Fun to see Tasukh with grownup hair. He looks SO much better.
It's as simple as this: I cannot abide a movie in which all the Russians are played by American actors speaking American English. I'm completely out of the film...

Pretty presumptuous of you, Jordan. I AM educated, in detail, about the Burning Sun "scandal" (as Korean trash media, and you, like to label these incidents to boost views and clicks), likely far more so than you. That's how I know what Seungri ACTUALLY was charged with and convicted of, as opposed to what morons on the Internet like to pretend to believe he was charged with and convicted of when they go on their self-righteous, moralistic rants.

"...text interpretation..." lol
Own your opinions or stop posting them. I AM smart and well-informed. At least you inferred that much correctly. Go help drive some more K-celebs to suicide and leave me alone.

You are deeply unself-aware. I don't waste my time having discussions with people who don't recognize the implications of their own BS, or alternatively, are simply liars.
1. Why didn't Adik immediately tell on himself to the authorities to spare Abang when he discovered he had returned…
I am so happy you loved this film, Maggi. Thanks for your insights here. I SO agree with you about cops, at least 1/3 of whom I suspect to be deeply corrupt and amoral. I've not only read a hundred such stories, but you might recall my horrendous experience on Long Island two and a half years ago. If not, mention that and I'll remind you.
LOTS of cops are ex-military, authoritarian types who love to throw their weight around and don't give a shit about little things like justice and ethics. Often, they don't even know the laws they are tasked to enforce. It's disgusting and scary.

Yup, I just googled this and read up on it. I remember vaguely reading something about this, but I didn't become an avid consumer of Korean films and a bit of its music until four and a half years ago, so T.O.P.'s suicide attempt was before that.
And it's only been in the last year or so that I became aware of Big Bang's music and influence. I had seen ONE BB music video, which is almost entirely rap, and found them ridiculous. I had no idea that while rap is a significant element of BB's ouvre, actual singing is more prevalent in their work as a whole. So I began checking out other BB mvs and quickly became a fan.
Now, the reason I went back and gave BB's work another shot was that I saw TOP in the film "commitment" and was duly blown away by his acting performance. Ever since, I've been bitching and moaning around here about what became of TOP's acting, as I see him as a major talent. Now I know: Korea decided he had to be crucified over smoking weed.
Sometimes I feel guilty for consuming Korean content. I feel i'm contributing to it's insane Celebrity Suicide Machine, grinding out victim after victim. My first experience with that came after I found SHINee on youtube four and a half years ago. I quickly became a big Jonghyun fan, then discovered two weeks later he'd been dead by suicide for two years. If I told you how profoundly that effected me, you would not believe me.
That is when I began to learn of Korea's booze and suicide problems. Meanwhile, it's tying itself in knots over marijuana. Good god.

T.O.P. attempted suicide? Truly? I must research this, as I had not heard that. I am a big fan. I'm worried about Yoo Ah In doing the same.
Korea is still pretending not to notice how many of its most gifted creatives have killed themselves over this sort of thing, beginning 25 years ago at least.

One of Korea's earliest military dictators, Park Chung-hee, is the idiot who pounded home the first draconian anti-drug laws, along with many other regulations such as the length of women's skirts. Good to know you're still in support of that strain of government interference in the personal lives of its people, even though the dictatorships are long gone now. Their stench remains in the form of things like Korea's stupid drug laws.
It's the Korean MEDIA that push these kinds of things as "scandals" to whip up clicks and advertising income. Grow up, again.

Yes, we DO have to dismiss Korea's culture of disapproval of "drug" use because it is Puritanical, illogical, and inconsistent.
ALCOHOL is a drug. Are you aware of this? Korea has the highest rate of alcoholism in among first-world nations. Thousands puke Soju in the streets of Seoul every night. Billions of $$$ in productivity and health expenses are lost annually. Korea has the highest rate of suicide by far, among developed nations.
But while ignoring those issues, you're promoting the idea that smoking weed is a dreadful crime. Korea would be much better off if lots of people stopped drinking so much and smoked up instead. Booze is MUCH harder on the body and brain than weed and other light drugs. Grow up.
Cultures grow and evolve. Korea needs to get with it on this issue.

"Have some empathy?" You are a moron. How about some empathy for all the Korean celebs driven to suicide by the unrelenting, incoherent demands of people exactly like you? Folks like you and your Puritanical/punitive attitudes helped kill Lee Sun Kyun a year ago. Good work.
When a famous person does something miniscule it gets amplified, the ripple goes all the way through society and…
You sound like the classic, idiot netizen attention-seekers that are the problem with Korean entertainment, who amplify the miniscule by fomenting the idea that celebrities must live flawless lives on and off the stage/screen. Fans don't run out to imitate every little thing an entertainer does. Do you?
Basically, you attach these outrageously arbitrary "strings" to fame, and then sit as judge and jury on anyone who pulls them. I wonder how many celeb suicides you have contributed to?
Lee Sun Kyun killed himself one year ago on December 27th. Thanks for helping make that possible.

Kim Young Min plays devious assholes so very well...that crooked smile that's always a bit of a sneer. Plus, he's handsome af. I'm a big fan.
9/10 (MDL) ratings are SO messed up.)
Sounds like you're one of those ranters.

People like you killed Lee Sun Kyun December 27th, 2024. I bet you regret your attempt on T.O.P.'s life was unsuccessful.
