USA - The half of it that hates Donald Trump as much as you do.

"(No matter the argument Nam was willing to change and be what or who he wants to be honest I saw no pride in him he would lay on a puddle of water for Go to walk on him and get to a dry surface)."

Interesting.
To me, that is exactly what's off-putting about Nam, despite his affection and good looks. He has no self-respect, no sense of self. The other half is almost always exhausted by a partner like that. They are forever looking to the beloved for validation.

After episode 4:

Wow. People seriously need to stop snooping into other people's stuff.

Oh look! A BL character went ABROAD. That's not been done before.
Oh look! A film character became a well-known author in one year's time.

MC is a masochist. The "researcher" had warning signs all around him from their first meeting forward. One of my issues with this plot is that I've been able to predict nearly all, maybe all, of the major developments ahead of time. I can't think of one surprise.

I'll give the actor this: He is great at weeping on cue. That is not easy to do. His scene at the foot of his mom's bed is the first that strongly moved me. But now that I think about it, I did not cry myself, and I'm a movie-weeper. Interesting. It's likely that I don't like him enough to care deeply for him.

He looked handsome with the mask on. Perhaps he should wear it all the time.

Tropes:
Single mom.
Absent dad.
Lonely child/no siblings.
Tending wound.
Car crash.
Cancer.
That thing that happened in episode 4.
Moving abroad.
Finding evidence of gayness by "accident." (I knew as soon as she leaned over to pick up his sweatshirt, what was about to happen. (She can barely walk. How did she get that crumpled photo from his apartment?)
There are more, but I'm troped-out.

And yet I keep watching. Guess I'm a masochist too.

She has been hogging that hospital bed for over a year!

Has anyone else noticed that apparently, men's fashion trend-setters are pushing us back into full-size blazers, suits, and pants? I guess we're leaving the "I swam across a lake in my suit and let it shrink on me" look, along with bare ankles in dress shoes, behind. Took me a while to figure out why I was getting a different vibe from the costuming.

In what way is this plot "non-linear?" Seems to me everything has taken place sequentially in time. I recall zero flashbacks.

Well, I found Nam to be obnoxiously insecure and clingy, though again, I sensed he was good at heart. I couldn't have survived that constant clinging either. But the way in which MC dropped him was exceedingly cruel. I get that sometimes with someone like that you have to cut things off cleanly, but he ran his mouth with all sorts of mean insults that were not necessary.

But come on...the rings...so quickly? That's psycho stalker territory. And yet we never saw them actually dating or sleeping together, but it seemed we were to believe they did at least the first.

I have never watched such an eventful plot where most everything happens off screen and we learn of it later. You find this show to be "fast-paced?" I'm bored to tears but have been told great things about it so keep watching. Yes, many events are happening, but the mechanisms of revealing them and many of the talk/talk/talk scenes are extremely boring.

I feel you Nam Gyu was for me one of the best.I was angry at Go Yeong that I was happy Karma got to him. I won't…
I know! Thank god somebody else is noticing all the odd plot inconsistencies. What do you mean Karma got to him? Got to Nam Gyu? I'm confused by your sentence about that? I saw NG as neurotic and needy but with a sweet core.

What happened happen to him because he was speeding, or so we're to wonder, which is what MC encouraged him to do, but MC registered zero degree of guilt or pain at hearing that. Like I wrote above,,,weird show.

I don't care about the book. The book is irrelevant to what this show is as it is presented on its own. I've heard "it's just like the book," or "it's not at all like the Manga" here on MDL 7 zillion times. The live-action adaptation has to stand on its own; else a screen shot at the beginning should say "READ THE BOOK FIRST SO YOU'LL KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON."

Midway through ep. 3 and am shocked at how slow and boring this is, just as the MC likes to date slow and boring guys and then act surprised that they're not his thing.

Weird show.

After two episodes:

MILD SPOILERS:

This is one of the most strangely-plotted/written/directed shows I've seen.

Major events happen in a flash, off-screen. We only find out about them later.
If I started listing all the implausibilites, plot holes, and oddly-constructed story arcs, I'd be writing here for hours, so here's just a few:

The MC seems peculiar, in ways such as his low-affect reaction to that big thing in episode 2. Especially since it happened as a result of something the MC encouraged him to do.

Why did he suddenly not hang with his gay buddies and was desperately lonely, but then there they are at the wedding?

Regarding that group of friends...they all have the same personality made up of gay stereotypes such as "pinkies up" (they ALL do that? Really? The director seems to think so. The personality the four guys share is almost entirely made up of gay behavioral stereotypes. I've been told the director is gay and that may be true, but I don't think he likes gay men very much.

I'm lonely...I know! I'll write a novel and win prizes! As per usual, that arc happened in a flash and was discarded.

The MC was miscast for this role.

The MC supposedly had a romantic period of dating with the photographer - we were shown none of it. His partner (???), who I adored for his basic sweetness, was neurotic, clingy/needy to the extent that his good looks did not make up for it. But suddenly, later on, we're to believe the MC adored him. The MC was an a-hole to the photog at the end of that, but I at least could see what the problem was. Why did he do a 180 on his opinion of the photog? Like a lot of things here, that development was not shown.

Wouldn't you know, when you pull a bag of blueberries out of the freezer, that it has hardly anything in it? Why would you try to pour its contents into a sizeable bowl and then act surprised that? There are a LOT of minor flubs here, that add up to a major problem.

The rings? Really? That was out of left field too. Did they ever go on a date? Not that we saw.
Did they ever sleep together? Not that we saw...which is odd, considering the MC is a self-described "slut" with a history of sleeping around. Not that we saw any of that either.

OK, I could drone on and on, but you get my drift. The plot is presented in a clumsy, clunky way but I don't think it's deliberate. And yet, and yet, I must give proper kudos for the unabashed guy-on-guy making out on display here. No dead-fish or mannequin kisses from these guys. This series was on Korean television! That's a big deal in homophobic Korea! Hopefully, a lot of people realized the sight of two men kissing did not make their heads explode.

Despite these misgivings, I will continue watching, as the production values are great, the OST is interesting and it's not so bad that I'm not at all interested in where it goes.

This is getting hated on way too much, the people writing those 1 star reviews clearly didn’t understand this…
Could you please share what you think there is about this film to be "understood?" Thanks.

Berant Zhu is incredibly hot, and this movie is incredibly bad. Both of these things can be true at the same time. I wouldn't know where to begin in describing how bad it is, but unfortunately it is not bad enough to be good...it's just bad.
