1. Perhaps he is mentally retarded. 2. Perhaps he is mentally ill, as in narcissistic personality disorder, manic depression, or inability to store long-term memories. 3. Perhaps he is psychopathic and cannot empathize with others. 4. Perhaps he will awaken and discover it was all a nightmare. 5. Perhaps he is simply an asshole.
To this point, the show has given me NO explanation as to why he does the same thing over and over, exactly the same way, leaving human wreckage along his path of destruction; so that I can feel the tiniest bit of humanity toward him, I can only conclude #5 is the best choice.
Lol. As someome who lives in Korea, this is totally common here though. People make and break relationships quickly.
You don't get it. He doesn't even see what he's doing. He simply repeats the same, exact behavior, going from ecstatic lover to grouchy bitch to cruel dumper. He not only "makes and breaks relationships quickly," he does so in exactly the same way each time, and each time he believes his own bullshit; right down to the worst part of all: he feels sorry for and weeps for HIMSELF as if what happened is a new thing and he didn't just deliberately crush someone's spirit.
Perhaps he is mentally ill and I'll find this out in episode 8. That would explain a LOT. Perhaps he had a brain injury and is unable to retain long-term memories, so he doesn't know he's repeating himself. He thinks each time is the first time.
BTW, I doubt young, Korean club-goers are any more promiscuous than anywhere else. What a limp explanation/excuse.
I like fucked-up, dark characters and stories. But what a lot of Korean movies do so well, especially in crime, mystery, and action films, is give me a reason to empathize with or understand, at least a little bit, why a vile, villainous person like this guy is the way he is and does the things he does. Thus, I indentify with and feel a tiny bit of humanity for, the awful turd.
This series gives me none of that. The guy is an asshole and I've no idea why, so I despise him.
After ep 6: "...the world's dirtiest joke." Finally...someone said it out loud. I despise this dude.
I'm so disgusted, even pissed-off I don't trust myself to write more than that. Which means that I'm invested enough to feel so strongly about it, I suppose, but my god...
To be honest personally i dont care who hates it Who loves itImportant it is i did 🤣🤣🤣Masterpiece? Is…
"The character is full of flaws, but that why was more realistic build. Perfection does not exist."
I do not want a perfect character. I love imperfect, flawed, even twisted characters; but this one doesn't work for me. Like you, I am not able to find a way to empathize with his repeated turmoils and oblivious behavior. For instance, he has yet to notice there's a sharply defined pattern to these overnight marriages, I mean relationships of his. Maybe he's semi-autistic or something, though if so, it would be nice to be let in on that. Oh well, perhaps it will pop up down the line.
"I am not a sensible person..." I love your self-awareness. I'm ridiculous too.
This has become for me, not a HATE-watch, but a MOCK-watch, as it is fun to make fun of upcoming plot twists as they are telegraphed ahead of time, take in all the cliches, tropes, stereotypes, and clunky direction, and gape in amazement how ALL the boys come to the MC's yard for his milkshake. :D
OK, THIS is the most absurd: The latest one is the THIRD hot guy to instantly fall groveling at the feet of our goofy-looking, neurotic MC. Spare me. Not plausible. The MC does not date people; he MARRIES them on sight. In a snap, rings, keys, and hearts are shared, and all is glorious and they can't stand being apart for a minute...like, overnight this happens. Because the lead is so hot or something. I admire his sharing that one thing so soon, but then why did he not do the same with the other husbands?
Anyway, I could go on but I won't. On to ep. 6 and more yucks and mockery. Fun!
Stop-let me say it for you: "WHY DON'T YOU STOP WATCHING IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH, THEN? QUIT SPOILING MY ENJOYMENT OF THIS FABULOUS MASTERPIECE!" I just explained why. And I don't want to.
And also, I have seen the word "masterpiece" tossed around this thread as per usual with MDL comment sections. lol It's all part of the entertainment. But remember: Plenty of people in the comment section of the juvenile/horrible BL, Bad Buddy, claim it as a "masterpiece!' too. That word means nothing here.
You're not an idiot. :)

It certainly isn't the one I did.

He has no ass.
He does have great legs though.
