Oh my god.

How can you not have seen his repetitious, self-obsessed, even cruel treatment of the men he "loved?" The pattern was the same with each:
Fall in rapturous love at first sight.
Flitter around with head in clouds, breathless with ecstasy, for a week or so.
Move in together.
Gradually lose interest in the victim.
Turn into a bossy, rude, nasty bitch and treat the victim like shit.
Dump the victim in a public street or sneak out while they're sleeping.
Go to a bar and get wasted so the next victim can fall in love with him at first sight.
Repeat all of the above.

He had FIVE men who adored him DESPITE his flaws, and he treated each one like shit in the same cycle. This is one of the most predictable shows I have ever seen.

HE is the one who brought darkness upon his many "boyfriends." He wasn't "searching for love, he was searching for his next victim. He found love from men who adored him (for what reasons I have no idea) and trashed it five times. He never learned any lessons from his behaviors, he never grew, he never changed or developed as a human being.

The final pathetic horror was him on that train or boat or whatever, after he had dumped the last guy at the last minute at the airport as the poor dude left for Thailand. He sat there, pondering his own self-imposed misery, weeping for HIMSELF as per usual. Complete and total psycho narcissist.

I am flabbergasted by your perspective on this and that of zillions more in comments.
I have never witnessed in a thread, so many commenters who saw on the screen of a series so many story elements that are not there, and who did NOT see all the appalling/selfish/destructive elements that ARE there. It's wild.

I did make my own comment in reaction to your "masterpiece" comment. That's how it works in comment threads. Did you not know that? tf? Also, did you know the word "masterpiece" is tossed around on MDL like the words "the" and "this?" It means nothing.

I found the show UNinteresting for the same reasons you found it interesting. To me, the MC is a serial emotional/mental abuser who repeats his horrendously destructive behaviors five times over, and learns nothing. He is, at the end, the same, almost pathologically cruel and self-obsessed jerk he was at the beginning.

So, knowing every time what was going to happen again and again and again and again and again, and then watching that all go down just as I predicted each time, made the series boring at times. What interest is there is watching a character repeat the same cycle of abusive behaviors over and over, with no growth, change, or self-awareness?

I suspect a great many viewers are projecting onto the screen a great many things that are not there. Plus, there's really bad writing and plotting along the way.

This is a beautiful example of the insecurity and defensiveness inherent to so many MDL children. HM "suggested" no such thing. You INFERRED such a thing because HM's question and subsequent replies touched a sensitive nerve. Thus, you reacted with snotty hostility almost immediately. lol So predictable.

Legions of MDLers slither through these threads carrying massive inferiority complexes about their own intellectual capacities on their backs. When a smart person says something incisive, well-stated, or asks simple questions as you have done, it touches that nerve of insecurity and they immediately become hostile and defensive. It's easy to understand. Just look at them as if you're studying ants under a magnifying glass. Their lashing-out at the sight of a well-written comment differing from their own opinions can be entertaining if you approach it that way. :)
