Nice. I fell for QinXiao on sight, but by the end of this ep I'm liking the other three principals too. But not as much as QX. He's my boy. Seeing as this is out of China, I wouldn't be watching it, except I've been told it was produced and released out of Taiwan to evade the Chinese government's psycho gay-ban. I'm OK with that then. :) Anything to piss off the homophobic Commies. Well-produced, well-acted and directed, writing that's making me smile here and there already. There have been a couple of trope infractions already but this is the type of BL I can even smile at those about because the bulk of it is promising. I even fell for the drunk one who came to the rescue of the deaf one before he did that. I felt goodness from him even though he was obviously wasted. That's either really good acting or casting or, more likely, a combo of both.
Yeah, that QX. What a sexy little hottie.
One caveat: Deaf kid's bad yellow bleach job. Yikes. That may be the ugliest yellow I've seen. Someone has got to tell these BL makeup people you MUST leave the bleach on the hair long enough, or do a double-bleach job when starting from gorgeous, coal-black Asian hair. They never listen to me.
I hope this one holds up. Of late, I've had my heart broken by FOUR consecutive BLs, none out of Thailand, that started out great and went to shit. If this one does likewise, I may have to avoid BL for a while to recover my hopes for the future.
I was a tad bored with eps 3 and 4, but now the show has gone all weirdo-pervy-zany and I'm loving it again! I'm sad to see the teacher go because he had become my favorite character. hahaha His over-the-top character and behaviors were the best thing about eps 4/5. The developing romance is out of left field and all the more adorable for being so.
Futoshi kills me! I love the way he so passively lets all these odd things happen to him, all the while sort of pretending to resist and maybe show some puzzlement, but at the same time not really fight back or get all that worked up about things. He puts on his "hmmm...., well this is certainly slightly out of the realm of the every day I suppose; and oh look, the teacher has a boner, but yeah, whatever..." lololol I love him.
There aren't any schizophrenic personality changes if you paid attention to the show you'd see that Dohoi is putting…
"This is yet another deeply flawed BL that I suspect plenty of viewers nevertheless will jump through hoops and run around barriers to defend despite what's in front of them on the screen."
I wrote this in my first comment above for people like you. The BS you're making up in your head to get through the hoops and around the barriers is embarrassing for us both. Please don't reply to my comments going forward.

I'm sorry, but you are an idiot. If I have questions, why does it displease you that I write them out? If we all should "just wait," to find out the answers, what is the point of a comment section in which to discuss what's going on?We should all just sit quietly and wait for the next episode, is that correct?
You're not bright. I'm embarrassed for you, Please refrain from replying to my comments as we move forward. Thank you.

Don't be sorry. :)
No, I am not certain, but it feels like that's the case. Come on...supposedly it has been TWELVE YEARS and he's letting the guy just follow him around like that...for 4,380 days and they're not romantically involved? That's what I mean about how stupid and unbelievable the plot has become.
To me, it's glaringly obvious and always has been, that the bully has the hots for DH. JY already smelled it on him in high school.

I'm sorry, but you are an idiot. That is the opposite of what I want. You have proven yourself dull-witted and lacking in perception. Please refrain from responding to my comments.
After episode 4:I am depressed. This is the fourth BL series in the last two months or so that has started out…
After the guys had the intense confrontation with the drunken father, he simply wasn't around for a while. They hated him with good reason and ran from the house, were preparing as if to leave for Seoul immediately, but then suddenly were back living with him at the house. But the father was conveniently never around, so we saw no confrontation, which there for sure would have been.
Dohoe hears that Juyeong attacked his asshole, violent father, and apparently doesn't believe it at first which is why he nearly stabbed the old bastard, but then mysteriously he turns on a dime and decides to believe that Juyeong unjustly assaulted the old bastard.
He then ghosts Juyeong with an insulting, judgemental voicemail and disappears for 12 years. Korea is a very small country and there are endless ways to find an individual in this digital age, but for 12 years Juyeong is unable to do so or doesn't bother to try. We're not informed, either way.
During that 12 years, the old, drunken, violent bastard somehow becomes Juyeong's bestie or father figure or something, with no evidence that his behavior has changed. If it has, why isn't he searching for his son? Juyeong sobs at the funeral of this horrible old alcoholic shithole.
Dohoe, who has turned into a cold-hearted douchebag, returns to his hometown to open a business, knowing Juyeong is living there, but is then terribly surprised when he runs into him. Naturally, he treats JY like shit.
Dohoe is now lovers with the abusive jerk he despised in high school, and who bullied him. He throws this in the face of JY.
NONE of this is plausible or believable in the context in which it is presented. All of these things COULD happen, but we are shown nothing that explains how or why they happened, so it's completely absurd.
God, I'm weary of having my little BL-loving heart broken lately, especially because it's been broken by BLs out of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, my only source of hope in the BL world since Thailand went the way of TOOTs.
I am depressed. This is the fourth BL series in the last two months or so that has started out super-strong and impressive, then self-destructed, with cliche, implausible plot turns, schizophrenic personality changes from an MC, absurd mistaken assumptions and misunderstandings, massive time jumps during which everyone apparently loses all knowledge of the Internet, cell phones, email, texting, transportation, travel, and using Google search.
This is yet another deeply flawed BL that I suspect plenty of viewers nevertheless will jump through hoops and run around barriers to defend despite what's in front of them on the screen.
Behind the spoiler button below, I present my case in a nutshell:
Different than what? Different from the fankids raving over this show and freaking out over anybody who dares to disagree with their take on the series? Different from that? You bet I do.
What is indicated to have taken place at the end of this episode, if what it appears to be, is going to destroy the credibility of what to this point has been a fascinating, enjoyable watch. There are two absurdities, one which I was entirely willing to overlook because the rest is so good; and another which I'm too disheartened by the conclusion of #3 to mention right now, that I will deal with later. But at this point, I'm annoyed enough to just go to bed rather than move on to #4.
All that being sufficiently bitched about, these two actors and the characters they are portraying are a delightful breath of fresh BL air. The chemistry and acting are superb and delightful. Their interaction is a joy to behold, even if there's a GLARING implausibility born of chicken-shit writing which I'll whine about later.
But good god, these two are such a joy to watch; I have teared up a couple times from the feels generated by their vibe, sometimes when they aren't even touching.
I wish they had gone deeper with some parts. Like the fact that he was given HIV and it doesn't seem like he went…
Bravo. Yeah, the whole thing's a mess. The story being portrayed is a train wreck and the WAY in which it is presented is a disaster. But read through this thread and you would think this was the story of a gentle young man victimized by life who was "merely looking in a dark world, for someone to love him despite all his flaws."
An MDLer actually wrote that to me.
You might also think it was beautifully written and directed. The only thing I might say was beautiful is the level of the production values.
Nice.

Christ.
Funny: I find him attractive in his bio pic but not on the poster. :)
