I'm not sure what you mean by this, so I'll clarify my own comment.
I meant that when it comes to ratings on MDL, up is down and down is up/east is west and vice-versa.

The better a show is, the lower it's MDL rating will be and vice-versa. Is there some overall MDL top 25 list I'm not aware of? I'm guessing that list would be my own bottom 25.

All the things you listed are why its MDL rating is low, not high. This is MDL, after all.

My Mom's Lover is so hilariously bad it's good. I love the woman presenter/narrator who passes prim judgement on the moral failings and evil behaviors of the various protagonists. lol
The Filipinos are really good at this sort of shriekingly melodramatic silliness.

Everything about the episode was outrageously predictable but the two actors are hot and the mom is beautiful, so even watching them act badly and spout the nonsense dialogue was a sort of hot, enjoyable absurdity. lol

I don't know how you make it through these horrible Thai BLs...especially as you are so otherwise educated and well-read. Is it a form of slumming? Neo was Duean in "Fish Upon the Sky," and he's been in supporting roles in a several other Thai BLs I couldn't stomach. He's a natural comedic actor. Very handsome too.

How any production company/director/writers could make two such appealing actors as Pond and Phuwin seem bland and vacuous is beyond me. The story/acting/direction are so bad that even these guys' looks and chemistry are overwhelmed. When are Pond/Phuwin going to escape to Korea or Japan where they can begin real careers? Both of them will disappear once they age out of BL.

Three-quarters of the first episode was enough for me to know this is yet another TOOT (Turd Out Of Thailand).

I'm a gay dude from one of those "older generations" you mentioned. I did everything I could to deny/pretend/avoid/not be who I was for 36 years. It didn't work and was horribly destructive to me and those around me. I believe fewer young gay people make that choice than in my day, but it still happens way too often.

On the other hand, I have three grown children and three grandchildren who wouldn't be on the Earth had I not made the choices I did, so who the hell knows what's what? :P

She certainly seems to know who she is and what she wants, and is perfectly comfortable with the vacuous nature of her goals. lol
