No one, least of all me, has made any attempt to stop people from sharing how they feel about anything here. I haven't contacted mods that someone posted a comment I disagreed with. I haven't demanded anyone stop commenting because they used the word "masterpiece."

The idea that Korean law enforcement is going to read our comments here and as a result work hard to improve their system of justice is ludicrous. Get real.

I hope Yoo gets the hell out of Korea as soon as possible after his release. The public, the press, and the industry will not allow him to resume working as an actor there without another ten years of humiliation and insults, and insistence that he "reflect on his misdeeds." Featuring him in a film will be seen as letting him off the hook too soon and condoning drug use. Do you even know what Korea is like about this stuff?

I hope he comes to America where we give celebrities, especially addicts, second, third, and fourth chances. We don't revel in their destruction and suffering like the Koreans do.

I love Korean movies, many gay dramas, and some music. But the society is 50 years behind the times in its drug laws and punishments.

My lands, I could not disagree with you more. Chinese fake BLs are just weird to me.

I have seen its first four episodes and consider it one of the best BLs I have seen, regardless of country of origin. It is extremely gritty, dark, and edgy, as well as extremely well-produced, directed, and acted. Even sets and costumes are cinema-quality in their grimy realism. It is going to end up high on my list of Best BLs.

Where did I say a show has to be dark and edgy to be good? Or that a show lacking those qualities can't be good quality. I didn't say either thing. I didn't like Not Me because it struck me as juvenile, poorly acted, poorly directed, and silly. I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

Once the MDL Little Girls get wind of this show, they will be here quickly to malign it in comments and deliberately down-rate it. This is how they try to control things here. The largest demographic on MDL is American White girls, 25 and younger. That's where all the sex-phobic prudishness comes from for the most part.

Thanks for pointing that out. I really thought it was the same shirt. But it's notable that he is always in black. Meanwhile, Chihiro often somehow comes up with white or brightly-colored tee shirts. However, contrary to what you see in all Thai BLs and some Korean ones, the shirts Chihiro wears look like he bought them in a thrift store about five years ago and has worn them often. The details in settings and costumes in this show are downright cinematic-level.

Well...I think Haoren was an asshole to pour the beer on him in the first place. There are lots of other less humiliating, demeaning ways of getting the same point across. But that does NOT mean I disliked seeing it portrayed. The last thing I want is a BL where all the characters act in right and proper ways. What made that most heartbreaking for me was that Chihiro simply ACCEPTED the fact that someone was pouring beer on him rather than standing up and punching the dude, no matter who it was. It shows how beaten down and lacking in self-resprect he is.

ugh. The Chinese don't make BLs. I totally do not understand the concept of watching a show that sublimates the very relationship it is focused on. I find it bizarre. Your mileage may vary.

It is WAY-dark and WAY awesome. However, even a supposedly "dark" show is not one hundred percent black. There have been quite a few moments of humor and sweetness. But if you want lukewarm, yeah, avoid it. I don't remember Not Me, but I'm sure I've seen it. I will review.
