How did a show that started out so unique, funny, and crazy become so dull and monotonous? It went from a wild, frenetic, slapstick, J-comedy with a zany MC to a dull, overwrought, monotonous K-Drama featuring stagy, boring dialogue between not-so-believable ex-lovers.
Plus, the last two eps have centered on the ancient, BL stand-by trope/plot of "To prevent you from being horribly hurt, I will hurt you horribly first!" bullshit. lol
Not to worry though, Toki is so exceedingly hot and cute and crazy, and Sensei is so breathtakingly handsome and tall and spermy, that I don't care. I can just look at them for one more episode and be OK with it all. Toki's butterscotch-candy skin alone is worth 24 minutes once a week. I so badly want to lick him.
It is too bad that what could have been something really special fizzled out in the end.
I agree, at this point. It certainly did not start out boring though. However, the two leads are so freaking hot that I enjoy looking at them, and there's only one ep left, so I'm here to the bitter end. :)
??? you dont gotta be racist just bc you dislike a show lmao
Wow. I guess you are also mentally disabled.
No...follow along carefully here...COUNTRIES are not the same thing as RACES...can you grasp that concept? Therefore, not liking ONE THING made in a country does not make you RACIST. It makes you someone who doesn't like one thing that is made in a specific country.
And no, it's not ignorance at all. I made my statement from a wealth of experience with Thai BLs. I know what I'm talking about. There are EIGHT Thai BLs on my Top 30 Best BLs list, so your "prejudice" theory is shit also. Thing is, none of them are from the last two years. All my faves are from before the meeting I mentioned above must have taken place.
Get a grip and stop misusing English words you don't understand.
With all sincerity, if I met a guy with Tseng's personality, sweetness, sense of humor, looks, and/or body, I wouldn't care one bit how small his "car" is, especially if he opened up his parking garage. Well, I suppose if it were thimble-size, that could be a problem. But that's the thing: we don't know the degree of Tseng's smallness, so it's impossible to make a call.
As for the question at the film's end, I go with B: Take a risk and tell Fong the truth, then SHOW him the truth. He seems to be a sweetie, too. Maybe he wouldn't care.
I don't think that these women not being attractive is the problem of this series... They are more interesting…
oh for sure. My question is more one that's been piling up in my head over the last three years or so of awful trans characters in Thai BLs than it was meant to be specific to this...thing.
It's fascinating that all the wonderful BLs I first discovered three years ago, and that had me thrilled to have found this unknown universe, such as Love Sick, Make It Right, Grey Rainbow, The Effect, Tharntype, Love By Chance, Together With Me, Until We Meet Again, Dark Blue Kiss, NightTime, Waterboyy, ITSAY, IPYTM, Theory of Love, and a couple others were all Thai; but that I can think of only one made since 2021 that I enjoyed, Moonlight Chicken, in that same country.
And it's not like all the other Thai shows I've dropped after starting since then were just...OK, they are aggressively terrible. Trash. Garbage. Except for KinnPorsche, which had its moments and two charismatic, talented leads.
Thank god Korea, Japan, and Taiwan got in the BL game or I wouldn't be watching any BLs by now. I've become a huge Asian gay cinema fan meanwhile though, so it's ok. :)
??? you dont gotta be racist just bc you dislike a show lmao
I have to ask, because I need a good laugh: What, exactly, is it about my comment that you find "racist?" But before you start digging your hole, did you know that "Thai" is not a RACE? Did you know "Korean" is not a race? Do you know anything about what race actually is. lol No. No, you don't.
I am beyond sick of reading MDL children throw that term around so loosely, to where it means absolutely nothing.
What is it about the end credits segment you found "powerful?" I felt like instead of calmly cooking dinner, she…
Yeah, I disagree one hundred percent with that. What did he do that was so horrible? He was upfront with her about everything; he didn't try to gloss over his behavior or excuse it. He wasn't lying about just being roomies with his ex-GF, he really was just roomies with her at that point. You may not approve of his "morals" in some way, but he didn't lie about who he was. Or did I miss something huge?
I thought he was weird and irresponsible about not ever wanting to wear a condom, but he told her upfront, BEFORE they had sex, that that was how he did things. And she cooperated. Just like she cooperated with the guy who banged her against the wall, and tried to play the victim after that, too. Neither of those guys FORCED her to do anything. She could have physically extricated herself from the second guy's d**k, but all she did was whine about it while he went ahead and blew inside her. It's that affected helplessness of hers that puts me off so strongly.
Such an immature person should not be having sex with anyone, period.
How many times did he try to sit down with the insane FL and talk things out directly and honestly? And all he got in response was whimpering, lies and weird excuses, like "why can't we just "believe" it's our baby" when she psychotically tried to make him out to be the weirdo for wanting a DNA test. Who WOULDN'T want a dna test? Even SHE should have wanted to know.
I interpreted her resistance to the test as an admission she was pretty sure it was the child of the guy she fucked without even taking their clothes off.
She was so intellectually/emotionally immature she could not have an adult discussion about anything. Her answer is to lock herself in the bathroom and pretend that she was physically afraid of him. He never once tried to hit her or harm her, but she hit HIM and, oh...also threw a freaking butcher knife at him.
She is the last person who should be having a baby. She can't even take care of herself. It would take a lot more than cooking some eggs, sausage and toast for her to get her mental/emotional/life shit together.
It's sad to me how many viewers see infantile women like that in movies and come away from it with the idea that they are victims. They victimize themselves and then blame the results on others.
I see a lot of ppl rating this down ... why? Because it didn't deliver that unicorn, magical, Cinderalla ending?…
I used to think of it that way too. But then I decided I'd break it down like an ACTUAL American school grading system in which 50% (5) is an F, 60% (6) is a D, 70% (7) is a C, 80% (8) is a B, and 90% (9) and above is an A.
However, for some reason, especially among BL fans, people freak out if you give anything below an 8. lol My god, MOST BLs are below a 7, especially out of Thailand, where it seems the best they can do is a 6 these days. Which is sad, seeing as how they started the whole thing with a few classics that I still love today. All their stuff in the last 2 years is shit. OK, maybe Moonlight Chicken was an 8.
What is it about the end credits segment you found "powerful?" I felt like instead of calmly cooking dinner, she…
My rant above convinced me to lower this to a 6/10. So many flaws in logic and plotting, along with all those artsy and unnecessary back-and-forth-and-in-between time-jumps all over the place. Too bad, because there was some good acting involved. But for me, good acting in service of such a train wreck doesn't put the cars back on the track.
What is it about the end credits segment you found "powerful?" I felt like instead of calmly cooking dinner, she…
Again, respectfully disagreed. I felt like that final scene indicated the exact opposite of what you took from it: She had learned nothing at all from what had transpired, and simply went into habit-mode and would soon be repeating all those mistakes again with someone else. She was nearly hysterical just moments before, for an extended period of time, never said or did anything while he was there to indicate self-reflection, and then cooked dinner. lol
The failure to "lead" an audience is often a failure to tell a story, or just plain laziness. "I don't know what I want to say here, and I don't want to bother, so I'll just leave this "open."
The director did succeed in creating, in the FL character, one of the most loathsome female personalities I've come across in Japanese film. She's a psychopathic dishrag. The thing with refusing a DNA test and aggressively guilting him for demanding one, was bizarre. "Why can't we just 'believe' it's ours...?" Seriously? Then there was the throwing of kitchen cutlery, for which she should have gone to jail.
No, she needs a lot more than a few minutes of pouting on the couch to find "serenity" about anything.
I see a lot of ppl rating this down ... why? Because it didn't deliver that unicorn, magical, Cinderalla ending?…
I'll just respectfully disagree about the plausibility thing. :) I took the ML as someone who would fall for a dynamic, outgoing, interesting woman. FL was exactly the opposite of that, and I saw nothing that explained his supposed attraction to her.
And yes, I agree that a 7/10 on a 10 scale is decent. To me that's a C, or average. Most people on MDL have this idea that anything below an 8 is a terrible rating. It's quite strange. I don't know what they think all the numbers below 8 are for. :)
Plus, I like Fujiwara Kisetsu a lot as an actor. He saved this from an "F" rating in my opinion.
horrible. Are there NO attractive trans women or fem men in Thailand? And why do BL trans/femmes always act like bitchy drag queens, who are by definition a stereotype?
utter crap. Clearly, about two and a half years ago, there was a meeting of Thai BL industry big-wigs, and it was agreed that henceforth, only ludicrous, trashy BLs would be released from that country.
Plus, the last two eps have centered on the ancient, BL stand-by trope/plot of "To prevent you from being horribly hurt, I will hurt you horribly first!" bullshit. lol

But I would never do that.
I'll not argue with you further. Enjoy your ten weekly Thai masterpieces. I'm glad they make you happy.

Unfortunately:
Whoever wrote this script should be shot.
Adam desperately needs acting lessons.
Seriously? They're great friends or something, but only see each other once a year?
This sweet, beautiful boy was left completely alone...?
Terrible.
