You're full of it on this one. There are countless Japanese, mainstream films LOADED with hot sex among straight people. Some of the most graphic sex scenes I've ever seen are in Japanese mainstream films about STRAIGHT people. Are you arguing that BLs should, for some reason, confine themselves to the ridiculous standards of J-Dramas, which are by nature, melodramatic, puritanical, and unrealistic?

I'm OK with a certain level and type of violence in movies, but this one's reveling in the gross-out, ultra-graphic, blood, gore, and body fluid-type violence too much for me. Even when it's a despicable scumbag being tortured, these acts are still horrible things to watch.
Also, I'm sick of seeing women being tortured, raped, and murdered in ultra-graphic, realistic, and sexualized ways in this type of film. Again, those who want to see that are perfectly welcome to do so. I do not believe in censorship of any kind. But I can't stomach the extremity of this shit.
What does it say about Korean/Japanese/American culture, that it is almost ALWAYS women being degraded, tortured, raped and murdered in our films? When are we going to see some handsome, young men being put through that? Well, I suppose the main reason is that men commit almost all the violent crime, here in the U.S. and around the world. Thus, a film depicting the type of sexual violence we so often see in films like "ISTD," against MEN, would be portraying a very rare thing.
BUT, I have been more and more shocked by the fact of how many Korean and Japanese films feature this stuff as its central premise. I was never a crime-thriller fan of Hollywood films, but the style and deeply rich characterizations of Japanese and Korean films in particular, have brought me around to where many movies in that genre are among my favorites. However, this thing with young women and girls constantly being raped and murdered in graphic detail gets me to my gut.
I'm also tired of the stupid trope by which in the middle of strings of highly-publicized, serial rapes and murders, we still have unaccompanied women and girls walking around at night ALONE, as if there isn't any reason at all for caution. "Memories of Murder" had the same, ridiculous plot contrivance. In the real world, the police and local government would be warning women and girls to go nowhere at night, and never alone, for god's sake.
But in movies like this, they're out standing at rural bus stops ALONE, waiting to be raped and murdered because, I guess, they don't own a television, radio, cellphone, or computer by which they'd know there's a serial killer on the loose. Absurd.
Oh, and how is the cop in ISTD not responsible for every vile act the murderer perpetrates after he set him free, even if the victim wasn't ultimately raped or murdered? They were still massively traumatized.

I didn't feel for them at all because I've seen this exact same plot in a hundred other BLs. "To prevent you being hurt, I will now hurt you" is one of the all-time, most repeated BL tropes, and at this point any writer who uses it is just freaking lazy.
It's simply boring. There are certainly better ways to spend free time.
It is boring now, but the two leads are incredibly handsome/cute, and Toki's caramel-colored skin is beautiful. I can put up with one more episode, even if that's all it amounts to.
