Here's the thing about YJ: Given his lack of self-respect and level of insecurity, he will not FEEL accepted, no matter where he goes. I said earlier, he is well-accepted, even admired and included, by the group of gay friends he hangs with in the movie. To me, he seemed a vital cog in that social machine. Did you see how, especially early in the film, he is greeting people left and right, high-fiving, hugging and being greeted wherever he goes? He was far from excluded.

As the movie progresses, we come to see how little he thinks of himself, despite that facade he maintains. He will carry the facade to Canada. I love this saying, because it is true: "No matter where you go, there you are." Changing his location won't change HIM. He will still think he's "ugly" in Canada.

hmmm...I replied to these thoughts from another comment of yours. I haven't erased any of my comments. I think we're overlapping and getting discombobulated. :)

Here are some conclusions I reached during the film, in bullet points:

-From start to finish, YJ was in love with CJ.
-As the film progressed, CJ, started feeling romantic love for YJ, and by film's end, was IN love with him.
-YJ, though highly intelligent, funny, and a key member of the friend group, the glue that in many ways held it together, was extremely insecure, mainly because of his looks (it broke my heart when he mentioned he knew he was "ugly."). Because of this, he was always primed to reject any affection from CJ because, in his heart, he felt unworthy of it.
-CJ let him go at the end, without hysterics, because he had emotionally matured from film's start, and understood that guilting YJ into staying wouldn't work; that YJ's insecurities would doom a relationship.

Questions:
Do you agree that CJ fell in love with YJ by film's end?
Or...had he come to see YJ as a dearly beloved friend whom he treasured as a confidante and companion?
Where, exactly, did YJ go at the end?

Perhaps it's my American movie-going roots showing, but I'd love a sequel in which CJ/YJ reunite and end up as a couple. :)

Your summary is pretty much what I had deduced, even though I remained confused. That confusion stems from the fact that the guy giving the lead the BJ stands up BEFORE the lead says "sorry."

Oh...so it just occurred to me that it must have been the case that even though the schlong-sucker was down there doing his best, the protagonist was not getting hard, is that what you think? So, it would make sense that the dude on his knees would stand up first, and look at him, like wtf?

What threw me off was that after the dude gets down there to start sucking away, the lead throws his lead back with his eyes closed as if enjoying the hell out of it. Thus, I assumed he was already hard, which made it weird that the other guy would stop and stand up first. But if he wasn't responding, what I saw makes sense.

So...hope you don't mind if I bounce a couple of other things off you for clarification: There are the important matters concerning the "love letter(?)" that is mentioned a few times, and some texting/chat/group forum stuff that remained unclear to me all the way to the end. It wasn't until the failed-blowjob guy confessed at the very end to doing/writing something online to mess things up between the lead and the "mother duck," that I got a hint at what went down between the three of them in that regard. Can you shed light on that for me? It seems crucial.

Which leads to a question: First of all, let me again express my massive gratitude to you for doing the subs. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I love this film, and without your hard work, I wouldn't have been able to watch it at all. That said, I'm wondering why you did not sub the texts and group chats that were shown on the phone...? Is it accurate to say that if I knew what was shown on the screen, I would understand all this a lot better? Again, I am not complaining. :D I am asking, because at those moments, I was like "whaaaaaaaaaaaat the fuck does it say on the phooooooooooone?!!!" hahaha

If you are still on and happen to see this, I would be thankful if you answered the above questions. After getting some clarification from you, I am planning to rewatch the movie after a football game I'm watching. Going into that with your responses on my mind will, I know, make that experience even deeper than it's already going to be. :)

I found it on dailymotion a few minutes ago, but no subs.

I thought the other guy was going to give our lead a blowjob, and the lead seemed to be enjoying just that, but all of a sudden, our schlong-sucker rose up from his knees, said something to the lead, and the lead turned and left.
What was that about?
There was not nearly enough time for the dude to reach orgasm, but nor did the BJ-giver seem annoyed or frustrated...?

Best gay-themed feature out of Asia in a long time.
This will def end up in my top ten, as soon as I watch it a time or two more to pick up on all the things I'm sure I missed.
That said, while I'm always thankful to anyone who takes the time and trouble to sub a film, the subs I saw for this are hella confusing at times, plus there are times the subs disappear altogether, which is, of course, frustrating.

It was refreshing to see a gay friend group presented as something other than a collection of annoying, predictable gay stereotypes. I'm looking at you, "Love In the Big City."

Second lead Kim Hyun Mok is a gifted talent to watch. His characterization is rich and full. He drove the film nearly as much as did the lead, who is not listed above, but who I'm going to try to hunt down and add to this page. He too is excellent, plus being extremely attractive in a unique way and having a rocking bod.

Great acting, direction, production values, cinematography; now if I can get clear on some plot elements... :D

I did not get the ending I was aching for, but that's OK. A lifetime of Hollywood flicks tied up with a perfect bow at the end are the source of that ache, but seven years of Asian films, especially Korean, have taught me that not getting what I want can deepen the viewing experience. Even as I pined for the ending I wanted, I somehow masochistically liked that I didn't get it. :P

Big question: I am confused as to what exactly happened in a crucial scene at the halfway point of the film. If someone could help me out, please read the spoiler below. I would be most grateful for some help on this. :)

wth? Subs just stopped at about 1:00:00, and no more after that...?
Majorly frustrating. I was really enjoying the film, too.
I'm not one to watch without subs, so I will have to wait for another version somewhere.
