I'm a big fan of JP actor Kora Kenga, who starred in the original, but I found this version much more powerful. Love where one of the two metal balls ended up. :P Excellent acting from all three leads.

On edit: I didn't think I had seen Lee Ji Hoon in anything before, but just checked his bio to find he was the lead in one of my fave Korean comedies, "The Legendary Lackey." Lord, he is hysterically funny in that. I've watched it at least three times. Having seen him in this heavy drama, it will be fun to go back for a fourth watch. :D He is way talented. Amazing range.
