New city boy alert?!?? 👀 ("Accidentally" revealed on Jeongyu's tiktok live)
So hard to keep up with all the tiktok lives. I mean, they are mostly just casual chats, so I ignored them. But then something like this happens... I'm eternally grateful for all the youtube channels who make cuts of the important parts.
They mentioned during the fanmeet that if everything goes according to schedule, the next volume should be coming…
I thought it was the vampire audio drama that's coming? Since I'm not sure how on earth Jaejun could've find the time to shoot with a fanmeeting (In a Minute) still on his schedule. But I might be wrong. In any case, sooner is better than later.
I think this volume was supposed to be a nice, relaxing break after everything that happened in volume 3, and…
I'm in the 3some camp, but if Korea isn't ready for that, then I'll take anything. Introduce a new guy, or heck, bring back either Byeokjun or Hyosang (if they couldn't return together) under the guise of a break-up .
As for 2J, I want to see more domesticity, rather than travel. Living together, that is. I feel like there are many potential drama in that, just from how different they are. Like how in their last live, they mentioned Jaejun has been staying up late working in his studio. If they live together and Jihan stays up every night waiting for him to come home, that's drama right there.
But also, Jaejun does have to do military time in ,like, 2 years? So he does need an "exit strategy" eventually. Though maybe I'm being overly optimistic in assuming this project will actually last a few more years (instead of, say, ending next year).
I think this volume was supposed to be a nice, relaxing break after everything that happened in volume 3, and…
That's a reasonable take. Back in vol 3, JYD were defined by their relationship with 2J. Now that in vol 4 they're their own persons, it makes sense they'll focus on them next.
They do seem they'll be a bit busy for a while. Personally I'm not expecting vol 5 to start showing until early next year. Though I'm not sure whether Jaejun's new song will be a full idol promo cycle, or just one song for his group's fanmeeting.
The people who don't want drama complained and stopped watching at volume 3. The people who do want drama complained and stopped watching at volume 4. And at its core, this vlog format gives them a lot of creative freedom, and they really can take this anywhere. They don't even release a trailer so we wouldn't know the vibe of a volume until we watch them.
So, I wonder, for people who already decide they'll watch volume 5, what's your expectation?
Y'all I binged the entire freaking show last night and it is *chef's kiss*. I love how real it is and I especially…
Just want to make sure you know, volume 4 is already showing. If it's not showing up in your YouTube, then it's in iQIYI in your region (you'd need a VIP subscription though).
So from my understanding this is a drama formatted as vlogging? But they're using their real names so does it…
Weird in what way? They go live on YouTube semi-regularly, and the comments have been polite for the most part. The fans are aware that this is acting. I'm not active in social media, so I can't comment on that part.
But, they are indeed blurring the line between acting and "real", and by that I mean they incorporate their actual personalities into the script. From what I understand, the script here is more rough ideas and general flow of action (instead of a typical line-per-line script), and they could act it in a way that fits themselves, with improvs here and there.
Actually... I would love if we get a scene in their room. Like, Jihan kissing Jaejun's neck and shoulder from behind as he slowly disrobes the top part of Jaejun's yukata. Would've been lovely, but I guess they didn't think of that? Oh well, at least I hope we'll get a wink wink nudge nudge next week.
At this point I don't think JYD will be "made official" this volume. They'll just be ambiguously threesome-y for a while.
I discovered them since vol 1 but I just recently started watching them, so I don't know much. I hope anyone who…
You know how in vol 4 ep 1, Jihan suggested that vol 4 be natural and without a script? That kind of implies that the previous volumes are scripted, and vol 4 will be "real" (but ofc vol 4 still has a script). So even in-universe they're blurring the line between whether this is acting or real.
Ultimately I don't think this show is that deep. There isn't a consistent, coherent narrative. Rather it's more like "feeling cute, might kiss my homies later".
Ep 4: Group bonding time. I suppose this is fine once in a while, I just wish they sneaked in some paired moments. Full team might give some cuteness, but it's wanting the will-they-won't-they that only comes with privacy.
They announced that all 5 of them were cast in an audio drama adaptation of a BL webtoon "거짓말, 뱀파이어가 어디 있어?" (Rough translation: "You're lying, vampire doesn't exist"). They're still in the script-reading stage right now.
They also said the channel will start YouTube membership (again, after the failed one back then). It seems that future behind-the-scenes will be put there.
they did the casting for 17-19yo but none of them match the preference of Guhai so they have to choose older guy…
Oh, so they're casting young and then ended up with one older guy. It means they are trying to keep the high-schooler roles actually look like high-schooler (and not adults in high school uniform). Hopefully it means they're taming the script (or they should be).
Cmiiw, but didn't they do an open casting? Meaning that the cast were chosen based on performance (in the script reading and screen test, etc)? In which case, if they truly believe that the 16-year-old is the best fit for the role, then discounting him for his age would be discriminatory, no?
I mean, ideally they would've put an age restriction for the whole open casting process to begin with. But apparently they didn't see the need. I don't know if it's because they're thinking of taming the script, or if it's just an oversight.
Ep 3: Finally a date! This is what we're here for.
This episode made me realise why I like this format so much. In a BL series proper, I kind of assume/expect that any dating scene would also progress the plot/character, instead of just being "pointless fluff". But here, I have no such expectation. I can enjoy their date as it is, pointless fluff and all, just like I'm watching any other actual vlog.
I like how 2J is often in the background, being sweet. It's voyeuristic, through the new boys' camera; almost as if they just "unintentionally" capture 2J's natural moment.
So, threesome? Tbh, in vol 3, I didn't sense Dongseop's chemistry with anyone, so I was rooting for Yunje and Jeonggyu couple. But here, he finally has chemistry with the other new boys. So now I'm rooting for all three to get together.
So they announced two lives this weekend. I wonder if this'll be regular lives or plot lives (like that jealous Jihan IG live) 🤔. This is the best thing about this format, they could be playful and catch us off guard.
Im just here because I saw one person act in Uncanny counter 2..
In retrospect, s1 is slow. Just to give the context, back then no one know what this is (afaik, they didn't say anything about this being acting until after the end of s2), and so people came in expecting a regular vlog (i.e. no plot). Then the boys started kissing and everyone went WTF. It was a ride.
Ofc now, newcomers would approach this series with knowledge (i.e. they expect plot). In that light, s1 is, understandably, kind of boring.

Vol 4 (episode 18-23) depends on your region. It's either in their YouTube channel as above, or in iQIYI.

2J ate, as expected. No note.

At least next week seems to be fire.
