The Medical Side of the Story: I might be wrong, but I think this is what's happened to the mom: She got breast cancer years back. She got treated. She lived without worry for a couple of years until she had a local recurrence of cancer in her breast when she was in the US. She came back to Taiwan and did surgery and now is getting chemo and other stuff. She is fine for now but lives with the fear of another recurrence, this time more serious in other parts of her body, and possibly death.
Txs for the review. I watched it a while back. And I loved the story, but embarrassingly, toward the end, I lost my interest. To me, it became predictable, not having enough tension. But I guess we humans are different & this is expected, so let me mention the most memorable scene for me: When the father told the daughter that from now on, she's the father. It was so sad, but the blame is all on the unfavourable socio-economic situation, we can't do anything except praise these little angels who take such a heavy responsibility with courage and smile.

Why? Because I want more people to read my reviews:D And OFC, being concise is a great skill!
I'm not sure, I think he thought she left him, so he's running to catch her. The car key is with him, so running away with keys doesn't make sense. I guess the main point is that they have no reasonable option.
