My heart broke for the ML so much. Yes he wanted her to treat him like a dog, but even a dog deserves respect…
I think the teenager girl is totally confused at first, She got angry at her love, because he ruined everything, so she's revengeful, but gradually she adapts and enjoys the new condition, so at the end, they are together in a kind of peaceful situation. I just hope they move toward a more balanced, less dangerous sadistic relationship:)
Her recent dramas are top notch.Tokyo Tarareba Musume is perfect for adults, given that it’s adapted from a…
A question: I remember that a Japanese actress was a member of some right-wing cult (something like scientology) and I remember you had a comment about this on her page her on MDL. I was sure that she's Yuriko Yoshitaka, but now that I'm checking it, I'm not sure that I remember correctly. Do you know who she is?
In any case, I started "Bishonure Tantei Mizuno Hagoromo", but as I'm not into detective stuff, I dropped it, but you might love it, who knows! But "My Daddy" seems something I love, so I wrote a comment on its MDL page to know when it's available on the net. I searched for it, but didn't find anything.
First one thing: I found an interview with this guy about the movie. Sadly, as for the perpetrator, IMO his thinking is too forgiving, and superficial: "The main theme of this work is the ways in which an opportunity for people to directly meet and speak can help people to move on. This theme is not something we creators push onto the audience but I think it is a feeling that viewers can perceive – so I am happy that a balanced view could be given." https://www.filmdoo.com/blog/2017/03/20/interview-junichi-kanai-talks-again/
nice, tell me how it'll go! Through this link, I downloaded 15% of it, but then found a quicker way somewhere else and stopped this one. The good thing is that it also has all the 3 songs by Spitz! I specially love this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-kQw4JqCHE&ab_channel=spitzclips
Ok, I re-watched it. First of all, I've watched some other works of the screen-writer & director, Kanai Junichi: Transferring, Choki, and Neko. I've loved them all, but related to your points: (1) In Choki, we have a case of domestic abuse with a very terrible consequence. Again, the legal system's approach is too forgiving, asking the victim to reconcile with the abuser (a mother). The movie doesn't directly take a stand, but it shows that the approach results in the girl's nervous breakdown and almost her death, so indirectly condemning the system. I assume this movie also has a similar approach. Here, I think the frustration of the mom-as a woman and a lawyer- with the system shows the movie's stand. (2) As for the girl & her behaviour. I don't have any experience like her, but I'm familiar with domestic violence when the abuser is a family member. And I can say that here the case is very different from when the abuser is a stranger. It might take years or decades for the abused to sort his/her feeling out. And honestly, many times, they can't do it till their death. It's not easy. So I understand her and while some of her behaviour isn't pleasant to watch, I think we should give her time, as her mom finally does. (3) But there is something I'm not sure about the movie and it's its treatment of the rapist. Does the movie want to show that as the legal system and his guardians believe, he's really sorry or as the mother say his apologizing has no worth? I agree with the mother and think he's still very dangerous (for women, kids, ....), but I more think that the movie kind of redeems the guy. Considering other works of the screenwriter, this is a bad surprise for me, but not sure what's happening here.

I have my view on these 2 issues, but I'll write them down here after re-watching the movie.
I wrote my own short review on it!
