Yeah, but it's not his biggest flaw. The whole relationship is about taking benefit of everything (her drunkedness, pregnancy, her parents' wish to have a grandchild, the abortion consent form that wants the father's consent as well, ...) to get a girl who rejected you 2 times, some years ago and just now. So for him, getting her is the only thing that really matters. I guess the drama wants to show a heartwarming romance, but I believe he deserves the worst kind of betrayal. Not that I'd like betrayal, but when you begin a relationship in such a lowly manner, you should expect the worst to come.
She was drunk, but it was her who started touching and sex. I'm not sure about the morality & consent issue here. But overall, the relationship & how the pregnancy is treated is messed-up in my opinion.
I'm happy it ended there because, in ep. 12, she would definitely break up with him again! More seriously, because she admitted her mistakes, we can hope she won't do that ridiculous behavior anymore.
Finished.Generously giving it a 6/10 on my scale, the ending was shit (the whole show was pointless, but it was…
I dropped this one after 2 episodes, but fortunately, there are lots of well-writtenJ-drama on family. Have you seen Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi (2021)? It's kind of the opposite: While there are many tear-jerking things about the story, the series avoids to show them. It's both full of good content and heart-warming.
A different question about this series: As far as I know, amblyopia can be cured if diagnosed early in childhood. So why has 'Yukiko' become almost blind? I mean I assume in Japan children are taken care by family and school properly (And she has a caring family). I guess her amblyopia is a special one, but not sure about that! Any expert view is appreciated!
Stating the obvious, theres no way u r going to like it if u have read manga n watched the anime.
I haven't read the manga and haven't watched the anime, but still don't like the movie at all. I can't understand the characters, and their relationships. Everything in the movie remains at a very superficial level.
I dont want them to fully cheat, I think they hurt and just finding an outlet. But I want FL to leave him, like…
Yeah, first clearing the mess is what they need to do! And by 'being saved' I didn't mean that they should be together, rather I meant finding the courage to escape from the prison he's made for himself.
Heh ... I like but it's too forced. You came for a tear-jerking drama and you got one buuuuuut there's more to…
I love your 'sweet' analogy, so possibly borrow it someday! Like you, when I first read the synopsis, I got excited, because I love such themes, but not this one. But Japan has many good family dramas as you know, and I love gibo to musume no blues, especially its first half! Let me tell you my favorites, even if you might know them well: Haha ni Naru (really intense though, but excellent), Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi (not family drama exactly, but feels that way, wow, wow, wow!), Our Little Sister & Shoplifters and possibly any other movie by Koreeda, but he also has a family drama series which I love as well: Going My Home (2012) My SO Has Got Depression (movie), Woman (2013) (really intense but good)

:) I'll answer you in 2 years, just wait a bit more:D
I asked on her bio page as well but can you recommend her best dramas and movies? I'm watching Q10 rn and she…
From a couple of works I've seen & she's the main lead, I love 37.5°C no Namida (2015) most. This is not a perfect story, but here I explained why I love it: https://kisskh.at/profile/faarian/feeds/2EW7QsA As you know, she is in Ukiwa: Tomodachi Ijo, Furin Miman (2021), the drama I rate 12/10, but her role isn't that central.
Ukiwa: ... (2021): Character Analysis and Prediction after ep. 5
I wrote something about the artistic values of the series, that if Leonardo da Vinci & Michelangelo made a series, it would be this; Now let's have some character analysis:
2 MLs, Maiko and Ichi: Role models for a Japanese wife and a husband: A perfect housekeeper and a 'yasashi', & caring man. The problem is that they don't belong to our time, so have to experiene a nightmare. The difference is that Maiko is actively searching for a rescue, but Ichi is an epitome of "I only want her to be happy" to the point of utter self-humiliation. So unless he's saved by Maiko or Risa (his super-interesting co-worker), I expect him to explode at some point. But, Maiko will find her way, she'll be fine!
Two SLs: Takuya (Maiko's husband) and (Ayumu): It seems that both have everything they want: Success at the job and having all kinds of fun, but they are totally different: While Ayumu is determined in what she does, Takuya already showed signs of hesitation & weakness. So, I expect Takuya to lose everything in the end, while Ayumu keeps enjoying her self-centered lifestyle.
There is much more to say, but just let's say that my rating so far is:
I really enjoyed the first 2-3 episodes, but then I think it started to lose momentum, also from a police story with some serious stuff, it became more and more like a shoujo drama. There were interesting themes that could be developed, like the friendship-sisterhood between these 3 policewomen, or the real challenges that Kawai faced as a young woman, but maybe I had wrong expectations.
But overall, the relationship & how the pregnancy is treated is messed-up in my opinion.
More seriously, because she admitted her mistakes, we can hope she won't do that ridiculous behavior anymore.
