It seemed like the drama was going to be about a strong friendship between two girls. But it seemed like the writers were trying to make them compete with each other in terms of who will get the guy. I think a lot of people also sympathetic towards JH because she has been through a lot and it was shown clearly in the drama while yes YR carries the family and she needs to study for college she is not in a dire situation. If we are comparing it seems like JH has the worst situations so she gets sympathised a lot.
