i understand what you’re saying and i felt the same but rewatching lovely runner, i now understand why he’s receiving all the hype. hye yoon has been in the industry and people are kinda used to her killing it 😅 the same is not the case for wooseok. people started taking notice with strong girl namsoon but he deserves ALL the credit he’s getting.
being 32 and pulling off a 19 year old is not as easy as it seems and he carried every emotion so well. he made cringe look cute and poured a lot of life into the character that you remember ‘Ryu Sun Jae’ and the personality of the character like it’s a real person. that’s not easy to do! we watch a lot of dramas and forget acting is hard. he killed it and it’s clearly his time to shine. let him enjoy his moment 😊

rewatching this drama after a year and it still gives me all the feels. i’m also picking up on some little details again. there’s just something so endearing and sweet about lovely runner and it’ll always be a 10 for me 🥹

this drama is soo beautiful and i love how the writers explained what the point of the drama was in the first episode so you could see it through the lens of the slaves and not the nobles. many rounds of applause for choo young woo. the way he could shift his gaze, gait, voice and mannerisms between the two characters was amazing. im ji yeon was amazing in this role and it was surprisingly pleasant to see her not be the villain. i loved the servants and i loved what this drama tried to achieve. i won’t be forgetting it in a hurry

love this drama because i love politics and history so much. i’m not shocked it’s a 7.5 here. it’s very nuanced and if you’re not really into history, politics, intrigue and all that, it might be a hard watch but for me, it’s a goldmine and it sits high up there with reborn rich for the politics and intrigue. samshikie samchunnnnn 🥹

the conversation before that epic ending was sooo heartfelt 😭 i felt their emotions and i especially felt the awkwardness of seunghyo. but the way they could express their thoughts and then allow themselves open up to each other had me giggling and kicking my feet like an idiot 😭
bae seokryu promised to take responsibility at the beginning and she did just that! 😏🌝🤭
the conversation also confirmed what i believed, that seokryu has always been attracted to seunghyo and kinda cared about how he saw her (there were signs of this in the earlier episodes when she was teasing him about being a doll and a femme fatale)
everyone’s talking about JHI’s micro expressions but helloooo, Jung Somin really took me in with how she looked at him like she was in love man especially before she pulled him by his collar. that moment felt like i was intruding on something private 😭. they both delivered!

my thoughts while watching this episode
- tweedledum and tweedledum are back! they’re back to bickering!
- seunghyo’s facial expression when bae seokryu’s dad said they’re basically a family was hilarious 🤣
- all sorts of tweedledee and tweedledum in this episode 😭 moeum and danho fgs 😭🤣
- is brain disease a trend now? i guess because it hits so close to home, it hurts me everytime to see anyone suffer it 😭
- SR was right. seunghyo’s parents suit each other. a beautiful miscommunicated mess 😂
- SH’s mum really makes me see that every mother deserves grace whether career or full time. it takes a lot to be a mother. a lot of sacrifices. a lot of dreams left behind. for the ones carried, there are people left behind. shoutout to all mummies 🩷
- the ENDING!!! God what a beautiful, special, sweet ending! with such a breathtaking view! i squealed so hard and started shedding tears 😭 i love them so much like finally they’re going for gold! 😭 seokryu’s comparison to banana milk after the bathhouse was soo sweet. so many memories behind her words and Wonstein’s soundtrack was chef’s kiss arrrghhhhh 🥺🥺

another scene that i always think about to support this is their reunion scene in episode 1. her gaze was really soft and she even let go of her balloons. i also felt like the camera lingered on her. i definitely think the attraction is there

episode 10 - i cried, you cried, we crewed 😭😭
this episode was beautiful and the OST at the end was amazing 🥺

i hate that i feel bad for the ex but i love how it was wrapped up. i believe that he should have really encouraged her to open up. also this drama really makes me realize that caretakers are just as important as sick people. like hyeonjun said, if he had given more room for honesty and even had a support system of his own, he would have found the energy to carry on and not lash out. he deserved to have days to unwind, to leave the house and to enjoy some things. that’s how you find the strength to continue to hope and fight for the recovery of your loved one

this drama is really making me think about my understanding of red and green flags. i don’t deny that SH was wrong with how he handled things but i understand that he did what he had to. from his pov, i don’t think the first thought he’d have had was that she was sick after seeing her with her ex. if that was his way of guarding himself, it worked then and that’s the thing with decisions, there are consequences. he faced his consequences and made amends. same with SR, and her parents. no one in this drama is black/white and i appreciate this drama for that. you can’t even make me hate SH because of that ending. that was a class act

my only issue is how they’ll move forward from here. the scene of the leads running was so cute but i don’t think they’ve done a lot to make a transition into the relationship era. i’ll ride for this drama to the end so please, make it work 😭🤲🏼

also i realized at the end that the first person on her mind when she got her diagnosis wasn’t her ex but SH. i think that didn’t feel as impactful since her actions didn’t match up. she definitely loves him though
