This is such a wasted potential. It started great. I didn't like the ML at first, preferred SML. I find him more…
Exactly!! And she even got mad at him for working with his ex to clean up the mess?! I genuinely liked her character for the first half. She was supposed to be a very mature & responsible character, but somehow end up extremely childish & unprofessional from there onwards. What a waste.
Watch for the comedy, not the romance. The mystery is just the cherry on top.
This really gives off the Mr Queen vibes, though with more second hand embarrassment 🙈 but hey! SIG really managed to pull off this comedic role perfectly to me.
And FL do annoy me halfway thru, like they put her as a skilled detective but then she became this overly emotionally blinded detective (it do makes sense as it's her brother's case, but a balance between emotional and rational all the way through the series might hv been better) - she did become more rational in the end, so all is good.
But comedic & minamdang character parts overpowers that annoyance. So overall, its enjoyable. And I might rewatch it for its comedy, especially those funny ’🙄 faces’ of SIG.
The non stop crying from the female lead got on my nerves. Over 10 episodes of her shedding tears over everything…
Oh this is interesting, cause my personal opinion is the total opposite from yours. Back here after my 3rd time rewatching it, and I still felt that she's one of the stronger female characters I've ever watched so far.
Like how when she started to smell something fishy about her husband, she put on her detective-self first before her wife-self and secretly investigate and find prove before she can start doubting him. I would imagine, a useless FL would just go straight to her husband and angrily question + accuse him irrationally. And how she saved him in that human trafficking scene. How she continues to believe him despite what others accused him off, because she knows that she knows him well, and knows him better than her colleagues.
She may not be his pillar to solve those case, but she is his emotional pillar to overcome the challenges. It is difficult to be an emotional support to someone when everyone/everything else is accusing him otherwise. And that is what make her a strong character to me.
Felt the last scene was stupid (I mean they must have low opinion of peoples intelligence) and I was hoping for…
Ikr. I'm questioning the fact that he wasted his whole youth to catch them, but only to have the main villain get away by being dead, and all the minions released and allowed to get back their power?? 🤷🏽♀️
Binge worthy, but not the best.Tension is there, but no satisfaction in the end.Oh. at least it has a good OST…
I expect Kim Ji Eun to have a greater role since she's shown as one of the main characters (even in the opening). Greatly disappointed tho. It feels like everytime she's on screen, her role is just to endorse a product....?
Maybe its my psychology background talking... but... That moment when FL found ML after knowing the truth why…
Thank you for this other set of opinion. I do acknowledge that her reactions are justifiable, and logically I knew that it is (almost entirely) his fault. It is just that the way she scolded him was a triggering factor for me. Maybe because I myself, am very much similar to Gu Wei's character. I knew how psychologically difficult it is to start trusting, how easy it is to go back to self blaming. So my view is definitely more biased towards Gu Wei as I empathize with him more.
Btw, dont you think your comment should be labelled as a spoiler...? For anyone who have not watched this, they might not want to accidentally read all these specific details about the drama.
It started off well for me. Except for some moments when FL is acting abit too rude for my liking (which I can…
Maybe its my psychology background talking... but... That moment when FL found ML after knowing the truth why he was acting that way during dinner, it totally didnt sit well with me. How little emotional support she gave him (if any) for that crisis that he's facing. She knows he is a responsible man. She knows something might have happened that made him act that way. She knows about his previous trauma where he BLAMED HIMSELF for something that is not his fault. Surely he's blaming himself too this time round. But the first thing she did after learning what actually happened is to scream and being angry at him? Why cant the most important person in his life now comfort him? Tell him it is not his fault, empathize him, be angry at the situation together first, before you push him to face the reality and then much much later, tell him that you're angry with him. And I wasn't saying that he didnt make a grave mistake for ruining that dinner. But if it was me, at that very moment, my worry and concern because he is facing such injustice will be outweighing my anger at him for ruining dinner (since I knew that is him acting out because of the injustice). My anger will definitely came back later, and I'll definitely lash at him afterwards.
It was a miracle that didnt cause him to spiral downwards further into his self blame - adding on that its his fault she's angry and no longer wants him.
It started off well for me. Except for some moments when FL is acting abit too rude for my liking (which I can let go off cause she's young), I do enjoy their chemistry and how they get to know and support each other in the beginning.
But I got soo triggered at a moment in ep20+ that it didnt end up as my cup of tea.
Which drama do you consider not over rated. Bollywood drama since you are from India.
I am neither an Indian nor from India, but I sincerely feel that your second sentence might indirectly hurt/offend our friends who are from India or an Indian.
From whatever little knowledge that I have: Not everyone who lives in India watches Bollywood movies because there are multiple languages used among the different regions of the country. The Indian movie industry is very diverse. Bollywood movies are more known worldwide, but they are actually catered more to the Hindi speaking consumers in the country, just like how they have Kollywood movies for Tamil speaking consumers, etc. So therefore, we should try not to generalize that all Indians watches Bollywood. They might be watching Kollywood instead. Or maybe they are like me, who dont really watch their own race's movies or dramas 😅.
I know that it is difficult for us to be racially sensitive if we do not have enough awareness about those races that is not our own, but let us all keep learning to be one.
(I tried to be as neutral and polite as possible for this comment. Sorry if I unintentionally offended anyone due to my lack of vocabulary or writing skills.)
This has one of the best SML characters I've ever watched so far. I can ship the ML & FL soo badly, but still…
Unfortunately not all the supporting characters are pleasant to watch. Some are waaay too annoying (*cough*younger sis*cough*). Luckily they are not that important, that I can skip their storyline halfway through the drama without missing much.
This has one of the best SML characters I've ever watched so far. I can ship the ML & FL soo badly, but still love the SML - which is rare. He is a mature and gentlemanly character who still respects others, especially in a love triangle. Kudos to the writers for that.
Are there other esports dramas where the female lead is also a gamer? I have watched Love 020, so aside from that…
Its not entirely an esport drama, but the first half of You Are My Glory is heavily on esport. None of the leads are gamers, but FL is an esport endorser who's trying to improve her gaming skills.
It doesn't feel too draggy to me. Didnt fast forward at all except for characters that I'm extremely annoyed with…
The ending is tragic but satisfying. It completes the story, so I don't mind it - in fact, I love it. Romance-wise, there's a whole spectrum (cute, happy, frustrating, heartbreaking moments - it's all there). And there's on-screen chemistry between the leads (so that's a plus plus plus point).
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Started this blindly cause of the casts (didn't even read the synopsis & the genre), so the 'no expectations' greatly contributed to my overall enjoyment. It's a blend of 'a life of a ranger' + 'mystery serial killings' instead of full on about the murders like other thrillers. I guess because the forest ranger theme is alrdy unique enough to be a drama on its own, it didn't bother me as much even if they make the mystery portion like a side story.
But that ending 😭😭 shipped hyunjo & yikang soo much that an open ended ending is not enough 😭 (though i can understand if the writer want to leave their relationship status to the viewers' imaginations)
