On Mad for Each Other Jan 8, 2026
I watched this when I came out so I don't really remember too much about it except the fact that it's one of the few dramas to make me laugh.

can't wrap my head around it why the score is so low
Dude you literally called me dumb because I "can't understand why people rate it highly" lmfao. I may be over-exaggerating in calling you hostile but if anything it was you who came w the tone but it's whatever I don't wanna linger on that. You never said melodrama or cliches are bad true but I would be able to understand your perspective if you could at least provide some critiques for our movie like I did with FOE. Yes I do understand people on this site rate shows based on how much they enjoyed it. There are extremely generic dramas rate highly on this site and the only reason I can think for that is enjoyment. "I just find your anger and hate for a show hilarious and dumb" I mean I guess? If I hate something I have reasons for it and I will gladly continue hating on FOE because at least it's not blind hate like some people who hate whatever is popular without even watching. Just how people are free to write how much they love a show others are free to hate that show. "If hundreds of thousands of people rate a drama 10 or 9, you cannot overlook that as "subjective nonsense." Pretty sure I can overlook it as subjective nonsense. Just because majority of people think something is good does not mean the other people who don't think it's good should accept it. This applies to like every type of media whether it's kdramas/western shows/movies/music etc. Beauty of opinions my friend.

If you wish to use ratings then we can look at IMDB ratings which for both series are pretty close. Our Movie - 8.7, Flower of Evil - 8.5. See how opinions and general consensus can vary in different spaces?

So now you have no arguments and instead you bring up the ratings of the site to prove how why FOE is good? No duh FOE is supposed to be a melodrama, it's just a very bad one and would work better as a serious thriller with a romance subplot because the writers clearly don't know how to write a cohesive story with a good non-contrived ending. There is no hypocrisy in my statements. I've already said multiple times that Our Movie has it's fair share of cliches and tropes so no clue why you keep bringing that to the conversation when we already cleared that up. Saying FOE is supposed to be unrealistic to excuse the shit writing in the final episodes is a cop out answer. So if you want to keep bringing up MDL ratings as "objective proof" when the ratings on this site are all joke keep doing it because I'm laughing. You literally have dramas like The Glory (garbage) and Queen of Tears (queen of cliches and bad villains) both rated above an 8.6+ and you want to use MDL ratings as proof? Didn't know FOE fans were this sensitive when you critique their show. I never called anyone dumb for liking FOE. You were the one who started with the weird hostility.

How am I nitpicking obvious flaws of Flower of Evil lmao? all this shit was so in your face that I can't help but hate it. You can also read my other comments where I talk with another user who didn't like this drama as much as I did and I even agree with some of their critiques. I do think our movie is infinitely better than flower of evil because even if it's the common terminal illness trope, it does a much better job with that trope than other shows I have seen there's also no contrived bs in our movie. Again these aren't nitpicks these are just obvious flaws with flower of evil. I don't mind some ridiculous moments here and there because I know you have to suspend disbelief sometimes but FOE was too unrealistic. It doesn't know if it wants to be a tragic romance story or a deep thriller but it succeeds at neither because of the plot conveniences and other bs. Too melodramatic is what I would label FOE as and that's kinda funny when you compare it to a melodrama like Our movie which doesn't even lean into the melodrama aspect as much as FOE. If you want to critique our movie then i'm here to discuss in a civil manner, not call people dumb because they don't like the same shit you like.

Flower of Evil is the perfect example of overrated slop tho. It works well as a romance because the tension is there but then you add a very contrived serial killer plot that is just so ridiculous you can't help but laugh. It's also full of cliches and plot conveniences so idk what you're talking about, the dumb coma plot, the EXTREMELY dumb amnesia plot in the last episode. Let's not forget how over the top and melodramatic it is for a thriller. The wife just confirms the husbands fingerprints by lining his fingerprints up? Unrealistic to the point where I almost dropped it. I loved the first 4-6 episodes of flower of evil but it just got progressively worse. So yes I have no idea how it has a 9.1 on this site. Our movie has it's fair share of cliches but it's grounded and done well in comparison to our movie. I'm not insulting you if you enjoyed flower of evil but don't call me dumb just because I think it's a bad show.

Oh there were definitely cliches in this drama but I thought they were handled well for the most part. I just don't think it compares to a traditional romcom since the tone of this one is just wayy too different from the standard romcom. For example in your comment you say "Every dream achieved, every conflict solved, every person happy" shouldn't every conflict be solved in a story? it's a sign of a well rounded conclusion when you can solve every conflict in your story. I do however agree with your criticism of the FL's mean friend coming back to apologize was just silly. Some other parts of your comments just don't make too much sense to me but it's always interesting to read other people's perspectives even if I don't agree with them.

the genre basically. many don't like melodramas with illnesses
I didn't think this was very melodramatic until like the end. It felt more grounded at first and had a more standard slice of life vibe.

Seems like a stretch to call this a romcom when like you said instead of comedy there is death so where exactly does the comedy fit in? You had goofy moments with the manager and assistant director but the drama throughout was pretty heavy.

The praise for this one has me stumped. I get most of these characters aren't supposed to be good or bad people outright, it's more nuanced than that but the father is just horrible, alcoholic bum who neglects his daughter, nothing really excuses that. Not to mention they mess up the own time travel rules they set but that's expected of almost any show that tries to deal with time travel. On another note tho Chun Woo-Hee looks gorgeous in this.

I thought an 8.3 score on here was pretty good tho? It's usually anything below an 8 that tends to be "garbage" according to mdl.

I think the case of why shows like business proposal and other romcoms are highly rated here is because a lot of kdrama fans really just want to see basic cliche romances that make them happy without thinking too much about it. That's why a lot of the ratings here are inflated as fuck. I didn't like business proposal that much either but I do love sejeong and seol inah but they couldn't save that show for me.

I'm so surprised this ended up with an 8.0 tbh. I remember seeing a lot of edits about the drama but it was pretty garbage and I remember a lot of people hating the ending. Also wish chae soo bin was paired up with a more handsome actor.

Extremely goofy take but moonchild already said what I wanted to say. Also you talking about western values infiltrating the kdrama industry just because you see some sex scenes in a drama is hilarious.

A lot of people didn’t like the ending for it but I didn’t think it was that bad and it’s still one of my favorites. I still highly recommend it. If I had to give it a score I would give it a 9/10. Each episode is an hour yes.
