It was great in the beginning. The main lead girl got me a headache, bc it was like she was asking to be raped.…
No woman is "asking to be raped". Comments and attitudes like this are the reason why sexual harassment and sexual assaults are so under reported. Because, you know it was the girls fault that she was happy that her boyfriend proposed. She was sending a signal she was taken and not interested in other men. In the "real world" women get raped, and then if they report it they often get judged... it's like getting raped twice.
This was a very strange movie! Everyone has their own interpretations, but I'm going to give you mine. I think it was about a very rich reporter who has a addicted girlfriend, and goes after those who're responsible. While doing so, after watching the death of his girlfriend he has a drug induced psychotic incident which causes him to have a horrific car crash. His lawyers put him on life support. He gets treated by the doctor who invented the drug. Because he's filthy rich, the doctor uses the drug while he's in a coma to make a gangster personality that will allow him to bilk money from the guy. In the process one of the gangster falls in love with one of the doctors assistants. The doctor tries to get the reporter personality to kill himself, but it doesn't work. Eventually, the reporter fights his way to the surface and now both personalities awake from the coma. Both personalities join forces to get revenge on the doctor and the mob who's selling the drug, with a sort of unconscious agreement that once it's done; one personality will disappear. It's told from the perspective of both personalities, and because of the drugs he's on, there's a real disconnect. It's like you're watching one side of his brain trying to talk to the other. I think that last surreal fight where it turns into a dance was over which personality would become dominate, with the other one diapering back into his unconscious mind.
I'm going give a 7.5 just because Soo Hyun's butt deserves at least that.... LOL
This could have been an interesting drama, but it suffered because the lead female was Kim Yoo Jung, she's kind of like a Korean Shirley Temple and I don't think they were ready to see her in a truly romantic romcom yet.... you know one with real sexual tension and yes, kissing. It didn't help that the lead was played by Park Bo Gum . He's very capable of delivering both the tension and the kisses but, he' s 6 yrs older. She was 17 at the time of the filming. I don't know if it was the director or the age difference, but there was no chemistry.
If anyone finds out where to watch this one with eng subs, please let me know. It's like the hidden Kang Dong Won drama that you can't seem to find... LOL
The 2001 version was better than the 2003, imho because the way he met and fell in love with his wife was more believable. Both were overacted at times, but in the 2003 version it was like the actor was trying to channel Jerry Lewis. If they made it a little more serious, I could actually see this as a K=drama.
Feli -- oh I remember that drama - I couldn't watch it all. I just wanted to kill him so much; I spent more time…
It's an Asian drama, so of course he did... saved the town, risked his life, almost died.... you know the drill. LOL If you can get past those horrible things he did, there are some really interesting moments when he's by himself and he's planning to pay for what he did and punish the evil ex that were surprisingly sweet. Also this is one of the few dramas where the ex pays a price for what she did....
Lool holy shit this guy seems like a real winner for this category. X'D Nominate away.
It's so bad it's actually good, if you know what I mean. It's the story that's stupid, but the actors are all pretty good, and they make the most of what they have to work with... there's actual chemistry between the leads. If you decide to watch it just go with the flow, and pretend that the only reason Roy Chiu's character doesn't get a happy ending is because he's waiting for you to give him one.... LOL

The female lead, played by Joe Chen, is cute and kind... but this girl didn't even bother to take a serious look in the Second Male Lead's direction. I would call that stubbornly stupid! XD Once she decided she liked him, nothing, not even finding out that he was indirectly responsible for grandmother's death, stopped her from loving the Main Lead.

This is one of those T-dramas where you suspend belief in reality, and just go along for the ride. Everyone but the SML and the dog were either stubbornly stupid or just bad, or evil. LOL
May I nominate Yan Da Feng from Easy Fortune, Happy Life? This guy was so bad that even though he's played by Blue Lan,, almost everyone rebelled and wonders why she didn't pick the second lead who was played by the very handsome Roy Chiu. Seriously, I almost never get SLS, but in this one even I was wondering WTH girl? This Anti-Hero.... Indirectly kills the girl’s grandma and gets her house burnt to the ground. Hires professional killers to get rid of girl. Gets the girl drunk and tries "take advantage" of her. Only helps girl in order to escape being exposed by the cab driver for a tabloid story. Pursues her in the beginning strictly to get his grandfather's 80 Billion dollars... On this last point, I'll give him a pass, because the girl is kind and very pretty, and the truth of the matter is I would probably get engaged to a nice, good looking guy for 80 Billion too. LOL
