This was one I wanted to like, but unfortunately the acting was so wooden I felt like I was watching a bunch of marionettes. I'm not sure if it was a 'style" that the director wanted them to use, but for me, it didn't work.
For those of you not in the know, before he became a model or actor, he was a wold class swimmer. He was on the Korean national swim team for 14 years before a spinal injury forced him to quit the team. That's why he's so often pictured in the water. Then he joined the military, but the was let go early due to a recurrence of the same injury. Sung Hoon got his big break when he debuted as an actor in 2011 with New Tales of Gisaeng, landing the lead role despite having no modeling or acting experience.
In This Is My Love, the two leads meet and fall in love with each other when they are children. Wrong choices? Being obsessed to the point you try to kill the woman you're supposedly in love with because she tells you she's in love with someone else, and then stealing her life... he definitely plays a bad guy in this one!
So many people get stuck on the fact that the 94 Hyun Jae is Ji Hoon's father, that they can't understand that the 93/2017 Da Bong feels no connection to him, he knew the mom casually but didn't have any feelings for her. Ji Hoon is the same age as he is, there can't be a father-son relationship, it's just not possible.
I really wanted to like this one, but for me it was just OK. What made this hard for me was that Jun is a scientist, but they didn't even give her confidence in that aspect of life, she had absolutely no self worth at the beginning. It wasn't until she "found a man", that she began to believe in herself. On top of that Jun is stunningly pretty, you can't make me believe that Keiochi was the first Japanese man realize that... I think it could have been much funnier.
Do these rules apply to cable too? Here is the US, we have censorship for public "network" TV, but not for private cable networks like HBO, Showtime, or say AMC. Also some rules are relaxed if the show airs after "family time" usually the hours of 6 to 10 pm....
You should watch this one for the casting if nothing else. The stories are interesting! The first one made me pretty angry, because I felt there was no justice. As far as the rest of them, some were better than others. But on the whole I recommend it!
I liked City Hunter as a Revenge Action drama, so I never really thought of it as a romance.
When it came to Full House there were parts of it I liked, but I agree the filler material was awful and there were too many WTF moments... I mean seriously, who tells the person who stole your house and left you stranded in a foreign country your secrets? I don't care if it's family!
I loved It Started With a Kiss and They Kiss Again, the way the actors were able to portray how they changed each other and why they were so necessary to each other made it a winner for me. Playful Kiss... did none of that, I agree it was pretty bad as were the rest in your list. I enjoyed Love Me if You Dare, what did you think about When a Snail Falls in Love?
