I think he was bi-sexual because he had to be; the King groomed him like child molesters do today. He may have loved the King as a father/brother, but he and the Queen were "in love" with each other. You see it in the little moments that that they have, but especially when she gives him handmade gifts. The King was always trying to buy his affections with extravagant gestures, but that wasn't the way to his heart.
