Yeah one thing that always bothered me about "the tomboy" "the slob" or "the nerd" was these characters are usually accompanied by "the makeover" which tends to funded by the wealthy male lead. It just has this vibe of needing to make someone "good enough" as if their inherit worth and dignity wasn't something to be valued in the first place. And then usually after the makeover it's like "oh okay I can see you as a woman now" like??? idk that always bothered me.
It is important to remember that "the ideal woman" and many of the things mentioned in the articles are also reflected in other countries and cultures as well.
This was pretty good, I'm very happy with the results. I remember loving the manga so much and really really hoping she would get with Kosuke and thinking she might actually because this was sucha different approach. I also thought in the manga they made Rita seem a bit more despicable, but I think for the movie as it's own thing they did a pretty good job. I wish they showed more of Kosuke but at the same time I think that it came out really well in it's current form so I won't bother with it. I'll still have Kosuke and Hatori in my heart forever though. I kinda want to reread the manga again now. I'm so glad this got uploaded and subbed, it was so worth the wait.
omg this is one of my fav things about new wave dramas is how kisses are becoming more expressive!! ^_^ Reply 1988 had some pretty damn good kisses too. That's the only one that sticks out to me that hasn't already been put up on here. Also, I'm just gonna say, Bang Sung Joon is just a great on-screen kisser.
The frozen kisses kinda bothered me because I think kisses should be something that is fun and loving between people. Sure surprise kisses can be nice, but they shouldn't make people uncomfortable! Thanks for the article!
I agree with everything except Master's Sun. I love Gong Hyo Jin but that drama just didn't do it for me. Also I haven't watched Gods Gift so i can't comment on it.
wait Kim Soo Hyun with IU?? Like that didn't actually happen, it was a one-sided open ending. I was really hoping they would get together they were so cute. Honestly I loved the way Reply 1988 and the Producers manipulated romance tropes in such a clever and unpredictable way. It just made watching it so much more fun.
I honestly didn't remember that Dream High ended that way which is pretty weird because I think I've rewatched it, I guess I'll just have to rewatch it again ^_^ which i don't mind, it's one of my favorites.
Great article btw, i was excited when i saw the title.
The last song that plays in episode 15, does anyone know what it is? I don't think it's in the released soundtracks so far (which I think there are eight of)
Went to see what Gong Hyo Jin was up to lately and glad to see Jo Jung Suk is working with her! I liked his acting in Oh My Ghost and of course I love Gong Hyo Jin. Very excited <3
for part 2
for part 1

Edit: Found it, if anyone has trouble finding a song that isn't in the OST you can probably find it here: https://my30uplife.wordpress.com/2016/01/16/cheese-in-the-trap-list-of-ost-ongoing/
