waaah... looking at the reviews and comment section I guess I'm the only one who thinks this drama sucks!! I got…
sorry it ended up being that way for you! yeah when i watch a lot of dramas from the same genre, i tend to get "desensitized" (lol see what i did there) from the typical charms and get more critical than I would if it were my first time watching something like this. idk i was definitely pretty negative about this drama when i first started watching it. Maybe it's just not for everyone. Sorry, I cheated and peaked at ur drama list, so I guess it makes sense. For a drama I really didn't like when I first started watching it to become my favorite drama of all time, idk I guess it just depends on the person. I personally felt it was more real than most dramas and I liked their attention to details and the way they didn't pretend things were going to be perfect, yet still retained a hopeful atmosphere. idk it was really powerful for me to watch, especially because of the acting. I also just really like the characters personalities. But thanks for giving it a try! Sorry it didn't work for you.

Well that's an important subject to bring up! I do think each and every topic you brought up deserve an article…
Maybe you don't know what it feels like to be raped. The feeling that accompanies having been raped or sexually assaulted isn't exclusive to sexual violence. Maybe you want to be tricky to win your argument by being word specific, but that doesn't change the point of the conversation.

I don't get why some people are trying to justify someones hair being cut off without their consent. It's a violation of someone else's body.

My main issue with all this isn't really the abuses themselves. I mean, I've seen/read stuff with that kind of…
Yeah, and I get really irked when shows with abuse in it, like even the more intense abuse, suddenly puts on the romance music and you realize they're trying to romanticize the scene. Then I check the comments because I can't be the only one who thinks it's wrong and a majority of the commenters are loving it!

Idk I'm okay with that stuff being in there too, but not if they're going to make it seem favorable. I'd rather the show admit that it's a problem then make it something that viewers may feel encouraged to do or enable in their own lives.

I think most of this is an attempt to romanticize a misogyny inherited from Confucian philosophy, like western…
Sorry I'm not sure which Secret you're talking about, especially because I haven't watched either. Are you talking about Secret the kdrama or Secret the Taiwanese movie?

Hey I heard there was a school kdrama that encouraged a law against corporal punishment, does anyone have any information to that or maybe an article that explains that? I'd really appreciate that.

Title It's Okay, That's Love Spoiler
I am watching Episode 7 but I don't particularly like it. I don't hate it either. I feel like dropping it. Seriously,…
His acting will surprise you later on I promise you this. If you're indifferent now I encourage you to just finish it.

Is it really that good? I usually judge a book by its cover. This drama doesn't have the greatest cover... Try…
I don't want to over-hype it because I know going into a drama after it gets crazy good review will sometimes make you shit on it fast, but I'd tell you to give it a go. Give it some time and make sure to love Gong Hyo Jin because she's perf.

Dropped it after the first episode because none of the characters were likable and there was infidelity at every…
Okay so this drama is going to fool you with its little tv tropes and you may catch yourself rolling your eyes every once in a while as I did, and it may take you a while before you actually find yourself not wanting to hurt some of the characters... but at least for me, when it was all done I couldn't help but love it.

I am currently rewatching this. I keep laughing thinking about how my mindset was so against the drama at first. I'm like remembering every time I rolled my eyes and it's just so funny because it is literally my favorite drama now. (sure there's some problems with it, but no drama is perfect... yet lol)

Could I get a list of the dramas shown?

Also, this list was kinda funny but also made me think about some of the weird/fucked up expectations of love in kdramas. idk it's interesting to think about. I like that it was balanced in representing stuff.

Yeah, I think Secret Garden was the most disturbing for me. I always had a few problems with dramas where I felt uncomfortable with things like this. One of my recent favs, Oh My Ghost really kinda was weird to watch because I really liked the story and characters, but one of the main female leads was kinda rapey. And I think the writers were having fun because it was a gender role reversal since the girl was the aggressive one and the man was on the defensive, but I don't think that made it any more okay. It was pretty conflicting to watch it. I just try to keep in mind that the shows I like can still be problematic and to not ignore that but understand it.

Title Oh My Ghost Spoiler
I truly appreciate how Episode 15 was able to take the risk to show that kind of sadness and chilling action.…
I think most people like myself were thrown off by the ending and what ended up happening with Sung Jae's character. I was wondering what you ended up thinking about that aspect of the show since he ended up not being dead. Like because I thought it was a chilling and confusing end to his character and then suddenly it wasn't actually the end. idk it was an interesting turn of events and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
