Who is the main antagonist here? Can you tell me? If you don't want to write it here could you dm it to me?
The main antagonist in the book is P'Ming but I don't think she's even in the series. She's a doctor who used to work with Karan and was there on the rooftop when she saved Kliao for the first time. She actually watches Karan fall and touches her as she falls trying to save her so she goes back in time with her and Kliao too but Karan does not know about it. Fiat is just someone who is being manipulated by her and helping her.
In the book, Kliao's father is really sexist and although she does help him get treatment, she never really forgives him or the family and goes live with Karan, cutting all contact with them. I hope we don't see the opposite happening here. I'm already unhappy with the changes they made, making Kliao's father a corrupt policeman when he was not even involved in the main story in the book. Also, is Fiat going to be the main antagonist of the series? Because he was not in the book, also. Not the main one, although he was involved.
Sometimes I regret reading the novel before I saw this series because it created so many expectations within me and so far, this hasn't been able to live up to the brilliance of the novel. The novel is written by Kliao's perception, so obviously, it's a lot more focused on her. But they should have adapted in order not to create such a one-sided narrative. Instead, Karan seems like a secondary character in her own story and it seems like we never really see her apart from 5 minutes every episode. She simply has no sufficient screen time but we see the straight couple and a million other repetitive flashbacks all the time. In the book, her friend does make that homophobic comment but why keep that of all things? We lost 5 or more minutes on that scene when it was simply useless. What was the point, really? They have limited time already but they still choose to focus on the most futile things. I never thought that after having that AMAZING first episode, things would have turned out like this. It simply hasn't been fulfilling. I feel really sad because I've been looking forward to this ever since it has been announced, I really like the actresses and I know they've put a lot of work behind this but the truth must be said, this series could have been a masterpiece, it has everything to be one (good book, good characters, good story, good plot twists) but it simply isn't.
It's quite ironic because Nene said Dokrak is Khem's family so their nature is the same. While Dokrak is nothing…
And we did receive some good times! We had such sweet moments. But of course, it's a GL and Emi/Bonnie did mention there will be angst so we have to be ready for that.
It's quite ironic because Nene said Dokrak is Khem's family so their nature is the same. While Dokrak is nothing…
Exactly! We already know something bad is definitely coming, especially because Pam was working with Nene, even if she's not at the moment. I just hope they won't force Rak to choose between her family and Pam, we are so tired of that story line. The story has been amazing so far so I hope they don't do anything to damage that.
It's quite ironic because Nene said Dokrak is Khem's family so their nature is the same. While Dokrak is nothing…
Honestly, I have this theory (I don't know if it will become true or not, it's just a theory) that Kawi will definitely be the target and he will face enormous pressure and will attempt suicide. He's been extremely depressed as of lately and he's not emotionally well as we can all see. Honestly, I am afraid too because this time, we don't know what's going to happen since they're not following the book anyways so we have to expect everything.
It's quite ironic because Nene said Dokrak is Khem's family so their nature is the same. While Dokrak is nothing…
Yes, I know! I don't hate Nene in any way, I actually like her. But at the moment, she's obviously blinded by hatred. Of course, she has her own reasons. I just hope she gets help. Obviously there are a lot more victims to this guy, it's not just her. I know things are going to get a lot more worse before they get better.
It's quite ironic because Nene said Dokrak is Khem's family so their nature is the same. While Dokrak is nothing…
Yes, exactly. If she could look at things objectively, she'd see that neither Dokrak nor Kawi are happy with the presence of their father. The problem is obviously Khem and not them. It's also ironic how she saws Khem does not care about anyone but himself but also contradicts herself by saying they should hurt his family to get back at him. The guy just disowned and assaulted Dokrak because she chose to study art, he's insane.
I have doubt like why karan loves kliao that much is there any specific backstory about that or it was just dreaming…
Well, their vibe is mostly like Reverse 4 You, soulmates destined to be together. But I feel like people don't really connect with them and that's because the screenwriters have managed to do a horrible job to show their connection to each other. So, I'll try to do my best to explain it to you based on the book. Karan had always dreamed about Khliao, even when she was young and that's why she decided to become a doctor. Khliao ALSO became a doctor because of Karan. After Karan saved her, she wanted to find her and meet her again. And since Karan was a doctor, she thought that was the best thing she could do if she wanted to find her again. Karan, besides having the power to get back in time, can also see the future and know what's to come so she always has visions about their marriage but she sees Khliao getting killed every time. The first time she actually sees her, though, is in the hospital when Khliao has the accident. After Khliao loses her arm and she tries to kill herself, she gets shot and falls, as shown in the series. Karan reverses time and saves her but Khliao remembers everything that happened. This only happens if the person reversing time touches the other person while doing it. After that and because Khliao traveled back in time with Karan, Khliao also starts to get visions of their future and their marriage. She sees herself getting killed every time, too. Because of this, Karan decides it's best to keep her distance. After Karan saves her, Khliao searches for Karan for years. Karan knows Khliao is looking for her because she keeps asking people around about her and about time traveling which in result leads to her getting the name "weirdo girl". Karan wants to be with her but finds it too dangerous. But there are some times during those 7 years, like special occasions when she does visit Khliao and spends time with her various times but she always ends up reversing time and Khliao forgets about everything, thinking she does not care. But the sense of déjà vu remains because every time she feels déjà vu, that's because something happened. Karan has been with her all that time, she just does not remember. After they meet in the hospital for the first time since the accident, Karan does spend a lot of time pretending not to know Khliao but that's because she's trying to protect her as she feels there's someone watching them closely. And you will understand she was right when the whole story is completed. Karan always knows what Khliao is thinking and feeling because she has the power to see the future and have visions and that makes for a lot of funny scenes in the book, which is not as developed in the series. That's why, at first, she only appears when Khliao is in danger. The umbrella scene is not well explained, too. Karan has a vision of Khliao walking in the rain crying and that's why she goes back. She knew exactly when Khliao would start to cry and at what time. She goes back to meet her and to prevent her from crying, as she always does when Khliao cries. She always turns back time if she cries because she loves her that much.
"I can boldly say that I have no way of erasing her from my heart. The heartbeat at that moment is still engraved, just like her warm hand and the captivating voice that could endlessly enchant me. In addition... the fact that she took me back in time, beyond just feelings, she also left something behind with me. (...) P'Karan, you left something within me."
Like someone said below, I feel like this is the first series where I actually do care about the other characters besides the main ones. I'm loving Oat/Nene and even Kawi gets my sympathy sometimes. Pam's family is so cool too, especially the grandmother. The pace of the series has been amazing so far, congratulations to the screenwriters and everyone involved, they've been doing an amazing job. I can understand Nene's motivations, although she is obviously seeing things as black and white right now. She resents Dokrak and Kawi for being acknowledged as the daughter/son of Khem but she can't see how much that is killing them, too. I hope in the end, she finds a family by their side. Mim definitely surprised me with her job as an actress, I didn't know much about her but she is doing an amazing job. She seems like such a sweet person but she's embracing this role in such a fantastic way. I'm amazed. I love everything about this series. Wow!
You and me both. It felt so domestic. They were serving 'we just got official' and 'we've been married for 5 years'.…
For real! Pam and Dokrak have such sweet moments that are SO relatable in a newly couple. I feel like sometimes those are exactly what's missing with current GL's. I love watching them act all fluffy, I love the soft kisses, the touching, the cuddles, the morning scenes. Emi/Bonnie are doing such an amazing job, too. They give me this warm cozy feeling whenever I watch them to the point I'm the one feeling blushed whenever I see those intimate scenes. And to think the last scene was improvised! That's really crazy! I'm obsessed with their chemistry.

I know, I wasn't trying to argue or start a fight because I see your point too and you're right. I'm familiar with Planoy's books (unfortunately) as I've read a lot of them and I'm really glad for all the adjustments and changes the scriptwriters have been making in her adaptations. I will never buy this book but if the story turns out good and not problematic at all, I'll be there to support it of course, as I always do when it comes to GL's. Like you said, let's wait and see!

In my honest opinion, following a trend that was famous at the time isn't exactly a justification for writing such problematic behavior. I mean, sure, it is an explanation but why would you make that choice if you weren't okay with those behaviors? I pray you're correct and they do change the story because the novel revolves a LOT around the obsession Pat has with Prem, with all the stalking and etc.
People who read the novel, before the arm episode, Karan had a romance with Kliao but she went back in time making…
The novel actually starts with Khliao losing her arm, that's how the author introduce us to the story but there's a lot of nuances that are not on the show. Karan has been dreaming of Khliao since she was a child, that's why she decided to become a doctor. And Khliao became a doctor because of Karan, too. Because she wanted to find her and meet her again. Karan had been having visions about Khliao and their marriage all the time but the first time she saw her was in the hospital when she had the accident (they actually show us this and Karan falls to the ground). During all those years Khliao was searching for Karan after Karan saved her, Karan knew about it and did visit her and spent time with her various times but ALWAYS ended up going back in time which caused Khliao to forget about it. She did this to protect her because she always felt someone was watching them. Their vibe is mostly one of those soulmates destined-to-be-together thing but it's so much better written on the book.
