Se Hoon was really annoying in episodes 3 and 4. He claims to be super into Ji Yeon, yet knows nothing about her and couldn't even really hold a conversation with her. Tbh, I feel like he only likes her because she's literally the gold standard of beauty in Korea. I hope he can stop obsessing over her and give the other girls or the new member a chance.

You're not alone! I thought she seemed a bit full of herself in ep 1 during her introduction, but I started to like her after she was so hardworking while helping with the cooking. But seeing her behavior around Si Hun and Hyeong Joong has started to change my mind a bit. It feels like she isn't acting very real or sincere.

My favorite on the show so far is So Yeon! I love that she's not afraid to get a tan; she really seems confident in herself. The show definitely isn't as scandalous as the teasers made it seem.

I hope so! Love triangles are so overdone and unnecessary, so I hope this is a "separate couple" drama .

"Romance is so unnecessary. I don't feel the chemistry between them and we're already halfway through." That's because it's not a romance drama though. It doesn't even have a romance tag. The two main leads are very very close friends who care deeply for each other, but that seems to be it.

This was a very average rom-com. The two main leads had amazing chemistry and acting, and I loved the comedy, but the subplot with Dali's father, Tae Jin. and the whole drug situation dragged out for way too long and I felt bored from episodes 11-13. And in the end, it feels like justice wasn't even served for Tae Jin or Ki Cheol's actions.

No, the first ep was pretty good. Japanese dramas just tend to always get low ratings on here because there's less people watching them.

I waited for Irozuku subs so I'm a bit behind, but this drama is off to a really great start!

That's not really true. Voice and God's Quiz have 4 seasons, Dream High and Hello My Twenties has 2 seasons and Penthouse has 3. I can name so many more but multiple seasons definitely isn't only a "Netflix" thing.

There are plenty of Netflix original kdramas that are decent and popular with fans (Squid Game, Sweet Home, Kingdom, etc.), but I do agree that the plot sounds been there done that.

Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense! The FL character is also a huge pushover. For those reasons I dropped the drama.

I wish these josei manga drama adaptions would get longer episodes. Everything moved way too quickly in ep 1 that it was kind of jarring, but I'm intrigued so I'll keep watching.

I 100% agree with you. I think that Korean dramas are definitely going through a period where they are getting larger budgets and are exploring new themes and ideas that aren't the norm. To me, that's not the same thing as westernization though. Westernization in my opinion is when countries purposely adopt western style beliefs, life-styles, or ideals. But modern day kdramas still feel very Korean to me and contain plenty of everyday nuances of traditional Korean culture, food, and beliefs weaved into the dialogue.

Agreed, the people who did her makeup and picked her clothes need a raise! She looks absolutely stunning in every single episode.

Wow, this drama is really good! Nice twist on the typical poor down on her luck FL and the rich ML. I love that the romance aspect isn't being forced too. Tbh I'd even be fine if they kept their mentor-mentee relationship as is.

It's a good thing that writers have to "walk on eggshells," not a bad thing. I've been watching dramas since 2011, and many dramas from the early 2010's to 2016-ish had male leads often displaying really toxic behavior towards the female lead (forced kisses/hugs, stalking, verbal abuse). Often, this behavior was wrongly portrayed as "romantic," which is a problem since the majority of drama audiences are female. ​I've been watching dramas since 2011, and I much prefer contemporary dramas compared to older ones as both male and female characters are written better. I actually don't think this drama is that bad compared to older dramas though and am enjoying it!
