I didn't see that you already edited your post. What I meant by "the ML is not arrogant for romantic purposes so that the fl could soften him up" is that this is what usually happens in a lot of romcom dramas and it's used as plot point for the romance, but here it encompasses the whole drama. The ML's arrogance and other characters' arrogance has a huge influence in the narrative. His personality is not going to change. I was giving you an idea about the plot. I don't see how that's defensive. Moreover, it was not clear from your first post whether you are still watching it or already dropped it. Actually many people didn't like the ML character initially, but they came here and asked and decided to the stick around and ended up really enjoying the show. So some people do actually take suggestion from others. But if you really don't enjoy this, there are other dramas to pick from, so no hard feelings. Hope you find something else to your liking.

You should reread my first post. I wasn't at all defending my views on the drama. Since you mentioned you were on episode 3 and your post gave me the impression that you were looking for a light, romcom style drama, I was telling you that this drama is not it. I was just giving you heads up in case you still wanted to continue. Some people actually appreciate these kind of suggestions. IMO, it is not necessary to have common grounds to have a discussion. This is a public forum where people have all different kinds of opinion and are still able to have healthy discussions regardless. That's the whole point of debate. Since there is a reply button, everyone is free to reply. There is no rule here that states you can't reply with a different views. Since you are particular that you don't want to discuss unless people have common views, you might as well mention that in your post coz otherwise you are bound to get replies whether it's this drama page or other pages. Again, it's a suggestion. Not imposing my views here. Take it or leave it.

Lol, I am not getting defensive. You've stated your opinion and I've stated mine. The comments section is about having discussions which is why is there is a reply button here. It isn't arguing or disrespecting others opinion. My post doesn't contain anything disrespectful. I was just responding to your post with my pov. Most people could have a healthy discussion. If you didn't want people to respond to your comment with a different opinion you could have said so.
Nowhere did I say you are biased. However, to a regular cdrama viewer it is quite apparent that you haven't ventured much into different kinds of cdramas that are available out there. In case your concluding I lack experience in kdramas or jdramas, let me assure you I have almost a decade long experience of watching them. I have seen all that kdramaland has to offer. Kdramas have there share of repetitive, uninventive plots and has a long history of arrogant male leads. So it's not exclusive to cdramas. Amongst the sea of dramas with arrogant male leads, this drama has made it mark as it offers some uniqueness in terms plot and characterizations.
This will soon be airing in SK as well and it's usually the successful cdramas that air on their tv channels or streaming platforms. It won't be surprising if this becomes a rage there as well. If I remember correctly, it was also quite popular among some kpop idols while it was airing. Or was that another cdrama?
Anyway, you are free to drop this if it doesn't appeal to your taste. Not every drama is meant for everyone.

If you're looking for a basic romcom drama than this is not it. This isn't even a romcom. This drama actually has a far more serious plot.Kdramas are more popular simply because they have been popular for longer. Cdramas are fast catching up. Kdramas at least in my opinion have declined in quality over the years. The notion the most cdramas are like this, is I am afraid, incorrect. You're talking about just one genre of cdramas which are web dramas of the romcom/idol drama genre. Cdramas come all different genres and there are plenty of high quality cdramas out there. One just has to know where to look. As for this one, this is highly rated both domestically and internationally.

People are entitled to their opinion, so we can't do anything about it. Sigh. But unlike many dramas, Li Xun's arrogance actually has a context. He really is way above his peers in terms of abilities and takes prides in itbecause he is a self-made man. And whatever he said to his classmates were harsh but wasn't untrue. If Li Xun hadn't told them all that, someone else would have. His only and biggest issue was that he wasn't diplomatic. Most people would rather here 'nice but untrue' words rather than harsh criticisms that eventually benefits them. Some people understood that LX actually was more capable and didn't hold a grudge, like Wu Mengxin or Fang Shumiao.

Speaking of Gao, his biggest problem wasn't that Li Xun was rude. He kept getting overshadowed by Li Xun and he was just plainly jealous. That's why he was unhappy when LX exposed FZJ during the competition when it had nothing to do with him. They had already won the first prize. He was the group leader, received the prize and others didn't know the details of their group dynamics. When the crowd applauds LX he just gets up and walks off. XLN liking him was also not at all LX fault. Had they participated in the competition separately, LX would have still won and not him.

What most of these people don't realize or just overlook is that whether LX apologized to the committee or to FZJ, the result would be the same. Their prize would still be cancelled. FZJ was plotting his revenge and had already urged the committee to investigate the matter. LX's only mistake was that he actually went to warn FZJ ( for Gao's sake) and that gave him the chance to tell him to apologize. That was a stupid move.

Let's also not forget that Gao never knew exactly why LX joined the competition in the first place. He thought LX did it to steal his thunder when in reality it was ZY who pushed him. After the Blue Crown incident, she went and apologized to him but later made the same mistake and kept him out of the loop.

After the prize cancellation, LX was actually truly sorry and did his best to compensate him. What Gao did was stab him in the back. The difference between LX and Gao is that they both made mistakes but Gao backstabbed him when LX was at his lowest. When Gao was at his lowest, LX chose to forgive him and be the bigger person.

L&P aired in Nov and Hi Venus aired in Dec. Those two dramas weren't affected at all. But AROLF which aired back in Sep had scenes cut. So that can't be the reason. I haven't seen Hi Venus yet but I can tell you that L&P has some intense kisses and an intimate scene between the leads.

It's definitely allowed as plenty of dramas have them. That's why I am wondering if it is the drama production/network doing these kind of stuff for bizarre reasons.

Yes everything is speculation at this point. Guess we just patiently have to wait.

Wait, what's going on? I didn't read any such news that kiss scenes were cut. Episode reduction is normal though, when it reduced by one or two epis. This happens all the time. But I did read that from some dramas the romance scenes were cut. That's quite baffling because some other recent drama had tons of romantic scenes like Lighter and Princess and Hi Venus. I wonder how much of if it's regulations or is it the production/network pulling strange tactics? For LOA I am worried whether they actually filmed kiss scenes. When it comes to LOA I no longer trust youku.

It feels no different than looking at something upside down. Everything flipped. I can't focus. Whoever thought this was good idea?

I rewatched ep 22 and Feiyu was just incredible throughout the epi. His acting literally gave me chills. Jingyi was really good too. We don't appreciate Qian Di Di enough though, probably coz Xu Li Na was so silly at first but she was actually very good in her role.

That's what makes the drama interesting for me though. It adds intrigue to the story and keeps you wondering how things turned out the way they turned out. Otherwise it just seems like another youth, campus romance drama. Anyway to each their own.

It really seems it's going to air next. Youku released new materials of TTEOTM for CNY but not for LOA. Before I had the impression that LOA might air first coz it finished filming first but now I feel TTEOTM might really air next.
