Poor LC. I do feel very sad for her but her anger towards SMZ is totally misplaced. Deep down she should at least know what kind of person SMZ is and it was all her dad's fault to begin with. But the 'incident', followed by the fake news of her dad's passing and then actually witnessing it, it was all just too much for her. Really liked how DFJ handled six half hall members afterwards.
SMZ and LC's parting scene was quite intense. Their scenes together are always brief but I always feel their chemistry. Both actors are really good. The best among the main cast.

Finished ep 22 and until this point I am still quite enjoying this, but the comment section is making me apprehensive about the future epis. Anyway, I am still going to keep watching.

Is DFJ joining hands with WXS?

She is a very good actress but still very underrated. She definitely deserves more recognition.

Is it following the novel closely? Does the wedding between LC and BCF happen in the novel too?

Yes it was. I had to pause in the middle of epi 21 and take a few deep breaths. I prepared myself for it from the start but now that I've become invested in the characters, I hope at least some of the beloved characters make it.

I initially liked DFJ coz he looked cool, but now I like the characterization too.

Epi 20-21

I was quite apprehensive of crossing the 20 epi mark coz I knew what happens ahead. Aside from LC's incident which was quite difficult to watch, things are only going to get worse from now on. It was hard to avoid all the debates regarding epi 21 after it aired for members, so I started reading spoilers and I really hoped it didn't turn out to be BCF.

Other than the fact that in the novel version BCF is suspected for it, there is nothing in the drama that actually suggested that it's him. He was wallowing in self-pity in the whole of epi 20 and he's just not capable of this. Anyway I am relieved the drama didn't take that route and there is no confusion here. I really hope the actually perpetrator is revealed to everyone and gets proper punishment for it, otherwise it's pointless to even include this. Kudos to MZY, her acting in this whole epi and also in epi 20 was really good.

LS is such a loser to actually use his own daughter for his gain. Despite being on the wrong side, I really really like DFJ.

I think she does it willingly. Why would BCF do it? Yeah it does look the wedding night but does the wedding actually happen?

Just finished epi 18. At least she had something to do here so maybe the character is not totally pointless. Let's see how it goes.

I think all the romance is centered around SMZ-LC-BCF love triangle. I don't even consider WR and WXS as lovers yet. Up until this point I only see them as friends.

It has a lot of happy moments but be ready to sad too coz there is some tragedy. Yes, it's a happy ending. There is a short epilogue ( ep 37) which is the real ending.

Actually everyone who watched this drama really loves it's well constructed storyline and mature characters. It's part of the reason why this drama became so acclaimed when it was a just small production with minuscule budget and was predicted by many to fail. The chemistry was undoubtedly great but the steller ensemble cast, acting, high quality production ( despite the budget), cinematography, music etc. all contributed to it's success.

Yes Suchun are not meant to be but I actually like the actors together as well as their characters so maybe that's why. They look good together and give that 'been in love for a long time' vibe which I like. BCF's one sided is actually sad, and yes, LYN is very good as BCF.

If there is one character in this drama whose purpose I don't understand at all, it's Lei Mei. Many people are either annoyed or frustrated at some characters and it's mostly WR and WKX . WR maybe just there to be WKX's love interest and provide comic relief and while that can be disappointing, people are at least discussing about WR. But for Lei Mei, no one's even talking about her like she doesn't even exist. Maybe once in a while someone mentions her in the passing but that was a long time ago as well. I have watched 18 episodes so far. I get that she has a backstory but she's hardly there and whenever she is there,her scenes actually look like fillers and her character sparks zero interest. I went ahead and read some spoilers and even in the recent episodes discussions, there is no mention of her. Her interest in BCF for whatever reason is not interesting either. She is meant to be coy but cunning in her scenes with LS and there are many such characters in other dramas, but even this aspect of her doesn't come across well. I really want to fast forward there scenes together because it's just boring.

Aww you're shipping them hard. Saw their bts and a fmv, they are indeed very cute and they actually have quite good chemistry. Although SuChun is my original ship, I like Baichun quite a bit as well.

Yes she really does need him. The three brothers all have each other, at least for now and there is WR, XY and Wuxie too. LC needs a supporter on her side as well.

Yes it was very, very surprising. He only sang the chorus but it was sounded so beautiful and magical.

Which epi does it say that? In one of the earlier episodes Lei Sun tells LC that their engagement was called off so she should just forget about it or sth. I am guessing it could either be because of the rivalry or maybe SMZ called it off because of his illness.
