I was reading reviews on Douban and lately there have been more reviews with lower stars. The complaints were…
I think I read about tencent introducing a new system a couple of days ago instead of just showing the views. Maybe that's why we haven't heard anything about views since the last few days.
When people are in the entertainment industry, they open themselves to both support and criticism. A lot of people…
Yes they do open themselves to criticism, and everyone here is entitled to their own opinion why is why I haven't addressed to anyone in particular and just stating why I disagree to those criticisms and sharing my personal opinion of the actress and the character. It's all part of healthy discussions. Surely if others can have their own opinion regarding the actress and the character, I can have mine too. If you read my comment again, it's mostly about what I think of the actress and the character. If you didn't make or see anyone else make any comments against her as a person I don't see why you have to get defensive or defend those who may have.
Why is Yang Chaoyue is getting so much flak here? I am not her fan and it's my first time watching her. Until now, I only ever heard criticisms of her acting; so I expected the worst or rather didn't expect anything from her at all but now that I am actually watching her, she seems to be doing quite okay with what she's given. So maybe she has already improved. It's just that her character so far only plays a supporting role and is young, a bit silly and immature. That's fine with me. My only requirement from any drama is that it needs to be interesting and have decent acting. There isn't a quota for characters that needs to be filled as each drama is different. While I do love badass female characters, it doesn't necessarily have to be FL character in every drama. Also physical strength isn't the only type of strength. There are other kinds of strength too and Wen Rou has a strong resolve. Even in TU, the female characters were supporting roles and Wen Qing and Jiang Yanli weren't known for their fighting skills. Their strength lied in different areas. This drams seems to be focusing on the brothers and is more of their story. Even Meng Ziyi, who I adore, doesn't have much screen time yet and is pretty much a supporting role here.
Based on what I've seen of YCY in the bts clips, she seems to be quite lovely and hardworking and there is scope for her improvement. Maybe she will become even better in future. Hope people can show her a bit more respect as a person and an artist. Some people are naturally gifted. Some get better through hardwork and passage of time. At the end of the day, everyone deserves a chance. Maybe c-ent sees a potential in her that some of the audience don't see yet.
Also, continuously berating the lead actress because you don't like her or doing it just for fun may put off some new potential viewers and if you actually like this drama and want more people to watch this, it's not a wise thing to do. At least allow others to watch and decide.
Finished epi 11. Zhu Xiaoyao is well, very interesting. Who is the guy that helped BCF? ( Just wondering....no spoilers please, I'd rather find out by watching.) I really wanna see more of SMZ and LC. They've only appeared together once until now.
Epi 10. The plot is slowly thickening and this epi highlighted a few things...
SMZ is too trusting. He gave BCF the title of Vice House Master without second thoughts. But it's also probably coz he knows he won't live long and wants to entrust Sunset Drizzle to capable hands and who better than one of these two people. It was kinda telling how BCF asked for this position although just being sworn brothers with SMZ is already a very big thing. Contrast to WXS who was just happy to have gotten two big brothers and a new family.
Is this worth watching? I like the ML, but love Baron Chen more and wished he had more ML roles.
GIve it a try. Personally I am enjoying it. If you like wuxia and bromance/brotherhood you're likely to enjoy it. All three MLs have good amount of screentime so it doesn't matter who you like. Baron has an interesting role.

Thanks. I wasn't asking about review though. I meant the views on the tencent/wetv. The last I heard it was 200M. The are bound to be different opinions and there is still time. Tbh I am yet to see a drama besides WOH maybe where the martial arts got positive comments.
I think people want it to be like old times where there were complicated moves and the actors were well trained and did those themselves. Many actors just briefly train nowadays and it also gets a bit risky. I know there is no distinctive style of martial arts in this drama though.
I hope people don't pass up on this wonderful drama just because of the supposed spoiler at the beginning of epi 1. That may not be the ending at all. Remember that the old man said something about happy/good days coming back. So I'd say that there is still hope. Ofc, many of the beloved characters won't make it till the end, but that's wuxia and other historical/costume dramas for you. Even if you don't know the ending that's something that's unavoidable. So far I'd say it's worth watching.
Does anyone know what the views of the drama are at present? I think as per Aiman data the characters are pretty popular.
Really enjoyed epis 8 and 9. Love, love the brotherhood in this drama. Despite trying to avoid spoilers, I already have an idea where the story is heading but for now it's just heartwarming to watch all of them develop this bond. Been a fan of LYN's singing and his livestream's for a while now, his acting doesn't disappoint. Also, his OST is so good. Love the opening and ending songs too.
Finished watching episode 7. JZ and LYN's acting in the prison scene was really good. SMZ doesn't even hesitate to bow down for the ones he cares about. BCF is susceptible to temptations when faced with difficult situations. He needs WXS around to act as his conscience and keep his thoughts positive. I love all three ML's but I think SMZ is my favorite, at least for now. WR and ZXY's interaction was so funny and I am intrigued by First elder Di Fei Jing. Very much enjoying this drama. It's turning to be so interesting.
