I am going to say a few things here for new fans or passerby fans who have become interested or confused by these recent events and don't know much about the past happenings or getting misled. I hope all you rational people who visit here can ponder.
1. If two people were not even friends from the start and didn't keep contact after the drama was over, how is it just one person's fault? And how does not being friends with someone make someone a bad person? 2. That childhood pic incident was a mistake made by the post-production crew and this matter was actually cleared up when that incident happened. They were in a hurry and they just posted GJ's colleague's pic by mistake. 3. Gong Jun's resources were all his. He didn't take anything that was meant for his ex-costar. Those who were here from the start, those who became WOH fans from back when it was airing should know that GJ and his former colleague were getting and accepting offers for different kinds of roles, with one's career being five year old and the other's being ten year old. There were also long discussions in the WOH page about how their careers might take different routes. 4. Give Gong Jun credit for his own performance. No one taught him how to act as WKX. Adlibs and teaching someone how to play their role are two different things. Gong Jun was chosen as WKX through an audition where he enacted the 'iconic rain scene'. He and his co-star didn't even know each other back then. Also, some of Gong Jun's best scenes in the drama were with other actors from the show. The rain scene was with Zhou Ye. And one scene episode 10 after which Gong Jun trended for his acting skills in wb were with the Ghost Valley actors. During one of the livestreams of WOH, GJ and his co-star were asked to play each others roles. While GJ played ZZS quite well, his co-star struggled with WKX. That's just my opinion though. You can see and judge for yourself. Also, GJ was the one who was credited for bringing fans to the show because of his famous WKX gif. This was said by the cast and crew, including GJ's co-star. 5. GJ was never less popular than his co-star, i.e, after WOH aired. Before celebrity rankings were cancelled, GJ and his co-star both ranked in the top 4 or 5 in vlinkage rankings. But GJ always ranked higher than his co-star and even ranked no 1 a few times. So there is no question of GJ being envious. 6. All the similarities, candies and stuff are common in other cp fandoms too. All cpfs find candies in everything their cps say or do. It happens with another big cp fandom which is 3 years olds. Does that means the actors themselves are behind it? No actor or their teams have time to do these things year after year. Maybe while promoting they do some fanservice but that's about it. 7. Lastly, before you say anything or judge. Please remember that GJ is a human being too. His family was hurt too. He has suffered enough in the past several months and he is quietly enduring it.
A whole year has passed since the finale aired on this day for non vips after two days of concert. I will never forget those days. No matter how things have changed, nothing will change those memories. WOH was my light last year and I will keep these precious memories with me forever. I will never regret watching and loving it. Thank you WOH for giving me happiness and fond memories. Thank you for introducing me to Gong Jun.

You can try Guardian. It's based on another novel by Priest, the author of WOH novel. Although they changed the story line a lot and the production quality is not good ( it was supposed to have big budget but they ran into problems and it ended up being low budget)...but the acting by the two leads are top notch and the chemistry is great.

The editing of Flaming Heart was not good. The epis looked so disjointed I put it on hold and still didn't finish it. Ofc, not every drama will be equally good. The chemistry is Dream Garden is rather nice. The first epi might seem a little cliche but afterwards it really gets better. Also in Begin Again, Gong Jun has amazing chemistry with Zhou Yutong. You can check out some of their bts to get an idea.

Actually Gong Jun's modern dramas are really nice. I know modern cdramas have that reputation with many international fans, maybe the old ones aren't that interesting but I find many of the recent ones to be pretty good and more refreshing than kdramas. You can also try The Love Equations. Dream Garden and Begin Again are nice too but TLE is my second fave amongst GJ's dramas after WOH. It's very cute and funny.

SHL is the 2nd highest rated historical/costume drama in a 8 years in Douban. It's second only to Nirvana in Fire which is a classic. That is seriously some achievement. Also, if I am not wrong it's the highest rated costume drama in 2021.
Started a rewatch because I was missing SHL a lot after the anniversary. Still as captivating as ever. Now that I've read the novel, I can now tell the similarities/differences between the drama and the novel so it's a different experience altogether. It's my third time watching it and I am still in awe and I am actually discovering a lot of new things, stuff that I missed earlier.
