Happy Birthday my precious, precious Gong Jun!!! Wish you all the happiness and success in the world!!! Hope you bring us many more beautiful works in future!!! Lots and lots of love!!!
Finished this a few months ago. I know it changed a lot from the novel, and certain things didn't really make a lot of sense but I still loved it...and it's all because of Bai Yu and ZYL. Their acting is so great and the chemistry is so good...especially the last three epis. Like WOW!!! I was amazed. Also Gao Yu Er and Li Yan were really good too. I would have given this a 7 but still giving it an 8 just for the acting and the chemistry. Oh and the OST is superb.
Going to watch this for Lee Soo Hyuk. Happy to see him in a lead role for a change. He deserves it.The plot sounds interesting too. He is looking like Professor Snape on the poster though.
I have started reading the novel and WOW, it's so good. Anle is really sassy, love her. Han Ye is amazing. I am even more excited to see Gong Jun as HanYe now because I can already see how Gong Jun has embodied Han Ye. The character is totally different from WKX and although it's Gong Jun, he just has an entirely different body language here.
Turns out Gong Jun and Zhong Chuxi already met back in March during the Harper's Bazaar event. They were part of a group that interacted that day. No wonder they looked comfortable during the LV event. It's because they already became acqainted months ago. This is nice.
Congratulations to WOH!!!! This drama deserves the highest rating! Hoping MDL would fix the rating issue so that…
This time, last year I had no plans whatsoever of watching A Tale of Wanderers (as it was called back then). After TU I was waiting for other popular danmei adaptations. I distinctly remember wondering a few times why no one was talking about it. Priest is a popular author and her other adaptations are hyped so why not this one? But since there was hardly any hype I just didn't care for it.
But later when it suddenly started airing, I saw some of friends talk about it. I remember seeing the new poster of ZZS and WKX in blue and red and thinking it looks good, it might be interesting...followed by that iconic gif of Wen Kexing perching on top of that wall waving his fan. Then there was no turning back for me.
WOH really gave me so much. This year has been pretty much WOH and all things WOH for me. It's like a precious gift. Which is why I feel so proud of its accomplishments. And of course I found Gong Jun through WOH.
WOH ranked 1st among costume dramas in 2021 douban ratings! Congratulations WOH! Very well deserved!!! Happy Shanren today !!!
WOH was a result of a great team effort. A bunch of hardworking, talented and creative people bringing an incredible story to a life and creating history together. What an achievement!!!
It has only been a few days but I already miss Gong Jun so much. Guess we won't be seeing him until the bday livestream. Though it's a much deserved break and I am happy he can rest a bit.
I like this better. I can't go back to watching TU after watching this.
You're welcome. The cherry blossom scene is truly magic and very much symbolic. It conveyed things that could not be conveyed with words. This is just the beginning though, there's plenty ahead.
When I say acting, I don't just mean the leads though. The acting in TU was also pretty good, but TU had a primarily rookie cast. Maybe that's why I felt that in some crucial scenes some actors either fell a little flat or went a bit overboard. But pretty much everyone matched the character descriptions in the novel. WOH on the other hand has a very solid supporting cast along with the leads. It's a good mix of young actors as well as several experienced actors. So that's why I think the acting is more on point here.
For me, it is hard to compare two series. One is a Wuxia (WOH), and the other is a Xianxia (the untamed) genre.…
Thanks fo the info. I did know about Yi City being a separate story...that she actually thought of it first. It was mentioned in the author's note of MDZS.
