why did Ming Ye the God of War choose Tantai Jin to enter his Bo're Life? The subs cut out at that scene
Which episode are you watching? Did you just finish the dream arc. Actually the real reason is revealed much later. In epi 39 TTJ finally understands reason why he was chosen to enter the Bore life. I could explain it but I am not sure which epi are you on and whether you'd actually want such a big spoiler.
All this time, we think that Youku gave TTEOTM special over the top budget marketing. Turn out data proof that…
Thanks for posting this here. These are FACTS with actual data that should be known to all TTEOTM fans, because even within the fandom, some people have some misconceptions, due to all the negative marketing done against it to bring the drama down. TTEOTM is a pathbreaking drama all thanks to itself. Yes, it is not perfect but it still struck a chord with the audience which resulted in it's success.
The drama "TEOTM" incorporates a significant influence of Chinese mythology and Buddhist background, interwoven…
I agree with this completely. Some things are so deeply rooted in certain cultures, in cannot be or should not be remade by others. For one, they won't be able to use any of the Dunhuang aspects which made this drama so visually unique and was a huge part of it's world-building, because it's a C heritage and if they do, it's going to get a huge backlash, and without all those it won't fully be TTEOTM.
Moreover, LYX and BL owned TTJ and LSS in such a way, that I personally cannot even imagine anyone else portraying these roles.
Well, some movies or TV shows from the USA when they're trendy - should have sequels or next seasons. How about…
I am probably the minority but I am not in favor of multiple seasons for shows as I've seen too many of my favorite shows getting destroyed by the endless dragging. This is also a big reason why I almost quit watching western shows. The multiple seasons format is a mostly a western concept and Asian shows mostly have just one season. Although there are some cdramas that indeed have two or more seasons, but that is when there is an actual story to tell. This drama is based on a novel with just a few extra chapters being left out.
Why tie down actors to just one project when they can explore different stories and show their versatility through different projects? Sometimes western tv shows go on for 7-8 seasons through which some actors get popular but once the series is over they struggle to find other good roles. This is the norm in the west so they work in that format, but given a chance even those actors would also want to do various characters.
I don't remember which c drama actor it was, but I do recall someone saying they didn't want to play the same characters over and over again. Wu Lei refused to come back for S2 of Fight Break Sphere and it never got made. As did Chen Feiyu for Ever Night and his role was taken over by Dylan Wang. So many c-actors don't even want to reprise their old roles unless it's absolutely required or they have already signed contracts for two seasons.
As for this drama and it's lead actors, they already have other projects lined up as well as the network which has other big dramas lined up so no one is losing anything here. Moreover they are both top tier artists with a diverse resume and I assume they would only want to play different characters and not get stuck to one role.
Survey: Which episodes of "TTEOEM" are your top favorites? (Choose up to 3 episodes)
How can anyone choose just three epis when the entire drama is so epic? So I’ll pick two sets instead.
SET 1 : 1) Epis 8-9 – It’s hard for me to separate these two epis, because epi 9 is basically a continuation of epi 8. I love this phase very much because here we see TTJ’s transitioning from the hostage prince to soon-to-be Jing Emperor and taking control of things. We witness the iconic boat dance, TTJ’s obsession, and his unhinged side and for the very first time we see him having a physical reaction to YXW. TTJ-YXW saving each other. The way LYX portrays all of this onscreen is splendid to watch, all while looking so hot! But if I have to pick one, it’s probably epi 8.
2) Epis 14-15 – The painful separation of MY-SJ. The wedding night of MY-SJ. The epic war between the 12 gods and ADG. The jaw-dropping CGI and intense battle packed with emotions. Not to mention the greatness of my beloved trio of Ming Ye-Jize-Chu Huang. Again if I have to pick just one, I’d probably go for epi 15.
3) Ep 23 – The festival, the sword dance which is foreshadowing the future, TTJ’s confession, their first kiss, LSS wondering whether he is her enemy or lover, a deity or demon and finally concluding he is just TTJ and wondering if she could stay with him forever if she told him everything. YQY-PR rooftop scene. TTJ-XL fight scene. DW looking gorgeous in black. PR catching YBC and YBC getting exposed.
SET 2 : Epi 35 – LSS saving CJM. CJM-LSS having heart to heart talk first in the bedroom and later near the lake. Them holding hands and being so carefree at last. The kisses !!!
Epi 39 – DG 2.0 vs ADG. The music, the demon wedding march, TTJ and LSS going back to where it all started. TTJ’s Bo’re life. After three weddings, them having their wedding night.
Epi 40 – I really don’t have any other words. It was just beautiful and poignant.
Honorary mention Epi 5: Who can forget the iconic crow orchestra/red wedding scene!!??
BTw, Xixi is so gorgeous in this pic!! How can anyone be so perfect !!??
