Is this on the same level of "The Bad Kids", "Kidnapping Game" and "The Long Night"? Based on the reviews on MDL,…
Yes give this one a try. This whodunit is on the level of those but it has a different feel. Both "Murderous Affair" and "The Long Night" cover some especially dark topics, surprised that both passed notoriously picky censorship. "Murderous Affair" entertains by telling stories told from different perspectives and in different creative ways. Admittedly there are some maybe plot holes and/or unexplained loose ends because the screenplay was greatly changed in adaptation from the novel, but the drama was such an enjoyable watch that those didn't matter. "The Long Night" is a good comparison because the investigation also hears conflicting stories told by different witnesses but was heavier throughout.
The drama is so different from the novel. Based on your comments though, I think you will like the drama betterAlso,…
Oh yea I forgot about Su Yuan Yuan. I think she's still a step sister because I'm pretty sure Auntie reminded the dad that he has another daughter. I'm glad they haven't had a huge role so far...hope they won't be too intolerable if they come up again later.

I've only watched 14 episodes of the drama so far so maybe things change but ML is sooo good to FL and he doesn't let anyone cling to him. FL has no sibling in the drama and her family backstory is pretty different. Her father dotes on her.
I don't have VIP to confirm whether there are English subtitles but I suspect they don't because it's on iqiyi.com and not iq.com It's too bad because I think a lot of Jane Austen fans would be interested in this one
People should check out Someday or One Day, The World Between Us, The Making Of An Ordinary woman. Three excellet…
Agreed! I highly recommend including these three on any Taiwanese drama recommendation list. Too bad The Making of An Ordinary Woman doesn't have Eng subs
Thx :) No haven't watched it. xD A lot of people recommended "Someday or one day" but it looks like too much love…
I promise you Someday or One Day is not what you think it is. There are some similarities to your recommendation Meet Me at 1006, so I think you will enjoy it. I usually recommend Meet Me at 1006 to people who don't know what to watch after Someday or One Day. There's good reason you see so many recommendations for it and it is rated highly on mdl and douban. At the very least, the songs are so memorable that they are covered on various variety shows.
P.S. Thank you for writing up this series. It's a fantastic idea to introduce people to shows from other countries, giving some recommendations on where to start to branch out
I agree with this, I was confused at first too and thought it was abrupt and a strange choice by screenwriters.…
Yea I can see this too. So far the show has been showing LX cling to JJ as a life preserver for his anxiety and to escape the black hole that is his mother. I hope the show will show him seeking healthier treatment so that his relationship with JJ is healthier.
Honestly i’m still a bit confused as to why Ling Xiao felt the need to kiss Jian Jian in front of his mom. They…
I agree with this, I was confused at first too and thought it was abrupt and a strange choice by screenwriters. I think maybe it is explained by later episodes. LX knows that his mom disapproves and has manpulatively kept him away from JJ all those years. LX is just rubbing it in her face to send a message that she has to accept it.
I don't think the rest don't have Eng subs yet
Also, which novel is FMHM?
