Maybe try another episode or two to get more interaction between the leads before you give up. But maybe this show just isn't your style and that's okay too. Have you watched him in https://kisskh.at/33795-wait-my-youth ? He's the lead there and it's a modern youth drama like Accidentally in Love.

I liked the story when I watched the original movie and love the lead actors in this remake, Eleanor and Chen Xing Xu, so I hoped to like this movie but it was pretty disappointing.

The leads didn't get enough screen time together to develop a romance or for the audience to care about them. The special effects were poorly done so the fight scenes were boring and felt like they took up too much time. Go in with low expectations.

One positive, it was nice to see Chen Xing Xu in this innocent bumbling role which is such a stark contrast to his role in Goodbye My Princess.

I was just wondering this. I'm watching Goodbye My Princess and Peng Xiaoran looks so tiny next to this guy.

Maybe you could still give the show a try because so far the first 10 episodes focuses more on the FL's own development than romance and it does a good job with it.

Admittedly, he's the weakest one in this show too. I thought maybe it was because his character is the most cliche and not well developed yet but it doesn't help that he doesn't have the acting skills to make something more of it

Edit: OK, I've watched the show now. The screenwriters could have chosen their words more carefully but they aren't saying it is bad music. The lead characters have different taste. The FL likes the music and is playing it for her friend because she thinks it will cheer her up. It may be ignorant that she thinks the song is funny.
The male lead character doesn't like the song but I don't think we're supposed to necessarily agree with him. The guy driving him wanted to listen to that song and thinks the male lead is a "lifeless antique" because he doesn't appreciate it.

This doesn't look like the serious historical kind, I'm guessing he won't have multiple wives...they usually don't in these modest budget sweet romance dramas

Yes it's supposed to contain some silly comedic elements but I watched a BTS video that suggests the tone gets more serious in the second half

Was wondering what Marcus is up to and discovered this drama out soon. What a great cast and love the tropes. But agreed with you, this once a week schedule is torture. Will watch it in September, see you around then :)
