I'm planning on watching White Deer Plain too, how did you like it? Investiture of the Gods was so boring I started skipping to just the Deng Lun parts. Even then, I want the impossible to happen, wish Daji would forget about the king and the dopey brother figure and run away with foxy Deng Lun. Who's the Keyman ep 12 is the best, Deng Lun is so so cute there. Luckily that one's subtitled.
Deng Lun acted out Angelababy's scene from Ep 1 (not really much of a spoiler) https://www.facebook.com/dengluninternationalfans/videos/2278216385753217/Who…
One of the comments on the video cracks me up: "Wish his co-actress actually took his efforts to teach her more seriously....seeing how he can easily replace her should have made her think about her own abilities and not just laugh it off like he just pulled off a stand-up comedy"

I'm doing the same, watching all of Deng Lun's dramas and variety shows. I'm still working my way through the older dramas. So far, Investiture of the Gods was the only one I'd say wasn't worth the watch. Have you seen his episode of Shu Xi De Wei Dao 熟悉的味道? Unfortunately it's not subtitled, but I thought you might still enjoy it since you're such a big fan too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxlQFuCLqjk

I totally agree with Ella C's very comprehensive list. Deng Lun's character in Because of Meeting You is one of my favorites. His character in Ashes of Love is my other favorite plus the drama itself is a must see. You're in for a treat there! Third is Sweet Dreams. Also agreed that he shined in his supporting roles, though I wish he had more screen time in Princess Agents and Ode to Joy 2 (in both of these, his character doesn't show up til very late into the series). If you want more Deng Lun, he's very entertaining on variety shows: Who's the Keyman (subtitled on Youtube) and Great Escape (1st ep is subtitled on Youtube)
Also I hate how the main lead's treats his childhood friend like he is something that bothers him, I understand…
SPC is an example of the saying "a mouth as sharp as a knife and heart as soft as tofu." The way he speaks to everyone is a bit too abrasive at times.
I definitely sympathize with the girl who has the unrequited feelings for him but I am glad he is very clear to her about how he feels, there's no room for misunderstanding.
She's not malicious but I'm not fond of her spoiled self-centered ways, like the thoughtless and very public victim-blaming "apology."
Perhaps he could be nicer but if she can't take a hint when he's this obvious, she might really get the wrong idea if he were any nicer.
Have you seen him in "Because of (Meeting) You"? His character there Li Yun Kai is like Shao Peng Cheng but even…
Loved him in "Princess Agents" too. It's hard for me to watch him in supporting roles because I want the main character to run off with him, it seems like a no brainer for me.
I love the exchanges between Shao Peng Cheng and his "little girl friend" whom he denies, and his bantering with…
Have you seen him in "Because of (Meeting) You"? His character there Li Yun Kai is like Shao Peng Cheng but even better, more charm and humor. You might skip ahead to Ep 6 where he first appears. It's a must see for Deng Lun fans :)
Ok so wth?! Mrs Bai wants JR and Zhen Zhen to get married without even properly knowing each other?! I mean one…
It's also a little too fast to be planning for kids! It's notable that when Zhen Zhen runs into problems, she asks Shao Peng Cheng for help. She might come to realize that she admires Jing Ran but Shao Peng Cheng suits her well as a partner for more than just business.
Honestly I was expecting a fluffy love triangle and was pleasantly surprised by the maturity of this drama. Each…
Although the show seems to be strangely conflating interior designer and architect for Jing Ran, the writers are doing a commendable job presenting societal problems in a different way from other dramas. In Ep 13, a typical storyline might have Jing Ran losing out on an Italian project due to simple competitor sabotage or racism, but in this drama, he explains that the competitor sabotage was especially effective because public opinion has been influenced by growing xenophobic tendencies due to refugee public safety issues and economic instability.
Honestly I was expecting a fluffy love triangle and was pleasantly surprised by the maturity of this drama. Each episode has introduced poignant topics affecting modern society in a way that provokes thought but isn't too weighty or melodramatic.
