if you didn't like the show that's fine, but i feel like so many of the criticism here is made in bad faith/from…
i don't think i'm far off by saying it's not a BL. many comedy movies have romance as their main plotline, but that still doesn't make it a romance. i would say it's the same thing with this drama, as the romance aspect is included as a vector for humour.

until the last episode, every romantic scene is played up for laughs, or gets derailed into something funny. you're not supposed to be focusing on their relationship development or their "chemistry", you're supposed to be laughing at how ridiculous it is for an obsessive otaku to date their oshi. though this might just be a difference in what someone would consider BL, as this is just a comedy including a queer couple to me.

i think it's fair to not like the miscommunication aspect, but it is also the Whole Joke lmao. hajime is a chronically insecure formerly-famous child star who thinks akafuji will leave him if he says anything, while akafuji desperately pretends he's a "cool guy" so hajime doesn't realize that he's just a loser otaku that happened to become a famous actor. if that's not your style of humour that's fine, but again... that's the whole point of the show. to laugh at their misunderstandings.

i'm not against minimal intimacy either, especially in context that do not require it like this drama. the modern BL fan likes erotic scenes a lot, which is fine, but i don't think it should be the main point of criticism of a drama.

they aren't intimate because that's the whole point! akafuji is an overzealous otaku who is so enamoured by hajime that even seeing him shirtless gives him heart palpitations. this is not a BL in the traditional sense, don't review it like it is
again, i'm very confused by all the comments/here. i think too many people watched this with it being a BL in mind, when in fact it is a comedy using BL tropes.

this is supposed to be a funny meta commentary on BL dramas, the japanese acting industry and over-the-top miscommunication in the average BL. their ridiculous miscommunication is done on purpose... for comedic effect. i think most people here did not understand the point of the show at all lmao

Some of us are watching only because of the managers! I could not care less about the boring main CP. Boring in…
that's fine. you can find them boring, but they are the main couple after all. as i said, i wouldn't have been against a spinoff so their fans could've enjoyed their storyline, but theirs is currently impacting the main focus of the show, which is yuichiro and hajime.

this is a romantic comedy, not a typical bl with "CPs". frankly i don't understand why some are expecting sizzling sensual scenes and drama when this is obviously tagged as a comedy and has been since season 1. if you like the managers more, good for you, but don't disparage the main couple which some of us are only here for ☺️🫶🏻

Same. Even more than you, I could care less about the managers. I just want Abe Alan and Nichika. Side couples…
i usually wouldn't mind if the series was longer, but it's only 20 minutes long with 6 episodes! wasting an entire episode on a side couple feels like a terrible choice for this type of show, especially since i don't find them comedic at all/don't fit the silly vibe of the series itself. hopefully we will see more of alan and nichika in the next episodes without any interruptions 😇

this is feeling like a Minato Shouiji Coin Laundry 2.0 where we get a second season from a previous season that…
this is comedy before it is a bl. the whole show is meant to poke fun at otaku types and bl tropes. i think people should view this differently than the average bl, as everything is meant to be funny more than romantic.

so cute! as an original manga reader, this drama felt so faithful to it and i really enjoyed the way the actors portrayed takara and taishin ^^ definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys cozy and fluffy romance!

(side note: i want more dramas with this pairing lol, yoji and eito have such good on-screen chemistry TT)

The only difference between the MC (Taishin) and that uncle is their age. Both are creepy stalkers. xD
how is taishin creepy or a stalker?

you guys know that you... aren't forced to watch this show right? if you don't enjoy any of the characters, think the plot is stupid, etc, you don't have to watch it. find another show with tropes you actually enjoy and please let others enjoy this one!

also, it's bl haha. you're meant to suspend your disbelief for many things, because this is a romance drama. yes, taishin calling takara before police can seem dumb, but after all this is just bl and it was an excuse for a very cute comforting scene :)

i don't think taishin comes off as childish though. yes he is naive and softhearted, but his demeanour is still…
i'm confused on what's childish about him lol? he's just someone who has trouble with others, and is soft-spoken. he lives on his own, goes to uni with no problem, and lives his life day to day like any other adult.

i guess you could say he's just eccentric? he's the same in the manga, very shy and relies on takara a lot.

idk.,..usually I like Japanese bl shows, but Taishin's character is that of a 8yo, not a college freshman. It's…
i don't think taishin comes off as childish though. yes he is naive and softhearted, but his demeanour is still very much like an adult.

i think a lot of his behaviour can be attributed to him being shy and kind of a recluse. he just moved to a big city after living his entire life in the countryside, and it's clearly overwhelming for him.

Title Takara's Treasure Spoiler
takara is right, taishin's innocence is very dangerous lol

i know a lot of people here found taishin creepy at first, or thought his actions were stalker-y, but this episode just proved me he has absolutely no clue what he's doing haha. he's like if innocence manifested itself as a human being lol
On Takara's Treasure Jul 8, 2024
taishin genuinely melts my heart TT he's so caring and doting towards takara even if he barely knows anything about him... so cute

a lot of these have cheesy romance tropes LMAO maybe not the love at first sight trope, but many other silly tropes are included in these dramas.

romance tropes aren't a bad thing. they're just something that will naturally be in shows revolving around two people falling in love.

also what's up with the cheap shot at thai bl lol? is bl from thailand inherently bad because they like cheesy romance?

i mean yeah love at first sight isn't original and has been done a thousands times, but this is bl. if you don't want typical cheesy romcom tropes, this is not the genre for you lol

personally i think there's a very sweet connection between sakae and soga. they barely know eachother right now, so it's not the most passionate and intense relationship ever, but episode-by-episode they're slowly getting comfortable and letting the other person into their space.

i think they have chemistry. if you don't, that's fine.
