i can't think of any (for myself) that can match the chemistry between the FL and ML in The Double. that said, you may want to check out the following that you might like:
- Scent of Time (ending is controversial, but i liked it, esp the FL/ML interaction) - An Ancient Love Song (interesting twist on FL/ML relationship) - The Rise of Phoenixes (liked the smart FL/ML interaction, but it is a long drama and full of political scheming) - A Journey to Love (strong FL/ML and good side character camaraderie) - A Dream of Splendor (smart/strong FL/ML and good interaction) - Princess Agents (good FL/ML tension, but it is rather long drama and heavy on the wuxia) - Nirvana in Fire Season 2: The Wind Blows in Chang Lin (this is more about family bonds than romance, but i think it is done very well)

i hated her...but loved her too... how is that possible? through great acting, i think. it's funny, i felt the same way about Liu Zi Xing, Wang Xing Yue's character in One and Only. i hated him there, but realized how good he was as an actor, so i watched his other dramas. i'm so glad i did!

💯agree! even when Duke Su looks at SYR with those sidelong glances of disdain, his affection for XFF is palpable. she's not even in the same room and i can feel him driving nails into SYR for her. 🤣 how romantic! yet, he shows restraint because he knows that is her revenge, not his, even if it's within his power to do it for her. also, when he calls her A'Li, you can hear his voice and see his facial expression soften... this makes my heart flutter more than seeing couples haphazardly kissing to show their desires. then again...perhaps i'm just old-fashioned 🤣

As i re-watch this, i come across the scene where the ML gives his underwear to the FL to wear 🤭, so romantic when you put it in context of the scene, but it’s usually something you wouldn’t consider as romantic. they have surprising ways to show their admiration and affection for each other.
it depends on how you define romance. if you mean a lot of physical display of affection, then no, there isn’t a lot of kissing and cuddling. if you mean two smart adults attracted to each other with flirtatious, intelligent verbal sparring, then yes there’s a good amount of it. there are also the little things, like the glances, the touches, etc. that show their restrained attraction for one another. the leads respect each other and understand they each have their own priorities they must deal with. it’s not the type of drama where the male lead decides what is best for the FL, so does things for her without her knowledge. instead, he respects her decision, even if he doesn’t agree with it, and supports her through it. i think it’s a masterclass on how a mature relationship should be. no silly miscommunications nor misunderstandings to add frustrating drama.
what?!?! i can understand why not everyone would like an actor/actress, but it's another thing to just be mean and say negative things about any actor/actress 😡. actors/actresses are human beings and deserve respect like everyone else. so sad that people think it is actually ok to be mean and disrespectful of others.
i think zhou ye is beautiful and talented and am sad to hear that others are being negative towards her. i hope she stays strong and realizes that those unkind people are not worth her time and energy, so that she continues to live her life the way she wants to live it 🥰. more power to those who are kind and respectful to others. ✊
