This is interesting background info! For me, the pairing worked really well. I felt the sizzle and the sparks! I’m so glad the drama did well considering 0 sponsors and a low budget. I also very much liked Scent of Time.

For those who are in the in the middle of watching and haven’t seen it to the end, then yes, your comment spoiled the ending for them regardless of your opinion of it. She did ask me some clarifying questions though to better follow the story. I think the main points to understand are: - the men can marry multiple women - the first wife is the legitimate wife and the others are concubines - the children of the first wife are the legitimate children and the children of the concubines don’t have high standing (the legitimate children inherit the house and usually get all the benefits) - keeping a woman’s reputation clean is of utmost importance. Once a women is deemed unclean or soiled, her life is pretty much ruined - the drama has a lot of theatrical effects, like don’t be surprised if there is some people flying through the air or you see some crazy acrobatics during fight scenes, this is typically normal in historical, wuxia type dramas
