Also depends on how you define romance. If you mean a lot of physical display of affection, then no, there isn’t a lot of kissing and cuddling. If you mean two smart adults attracted to each other with flirtatious, intelligent verbal sparring, then yes there’s a good amount of it. The leads respect each other and understand they each have their own priorities they must deal with, so support one another.

No I cannot. I rely on subtitles, but have started learning some Chinese through an app. I got into Chinese drama when I watched my first one on Netflix called Rise of Phoenixes. I loved NiNi in it and was hooked ever since!
Yes, agree and in the older dramas he was probably in his teens and just getting started. I first noticed him in One and Only. He played the character so well that I hated his guts LOL. Then I knew to keep an eye out for his dramas.

IIRC, Consort Li had used a diviner to kill off one the Emperor's wives (was it the Empress or the main consort?) and one of the maids knew about it.
