Lin Yu Shen always deliver well. His facial expression and his eyes and all those mighy fighting scenes. It is…
💯 I agree with you. 1. Ren Feng should have been in more scenes. I loved Lin Yu Shen in this drama. He acted the lone, pained, misunderstood hero, wonderfully. I also wished he had a happy ending, but maybe I feel more for him because he didn’t? I don’t know, I really liked his character. 2. The relationship between the FL and 2nd FL was also done well. I liked how they didn’t use the jealously factor to drive a wedge between them. They were both mature and understood each other. They truly loved the ML so much that they both wanted the other to work it out with the ML. 3. Also sad about Cheng Ling Su… She sacrificed so much for the ML and he was so clueless. She deserved a better ending. I guess the moral of the story here is, if you are a hero, you are destined to have an unhappy life. There are moments in life where you will feel joy, but be ready to die at any time…and if you survive…be ready to live alone. Yet, despite all of this…I also enjoyed the drama. I think they could have cut it down and make it shorter by eliminating some of the romantic flashback and reminiscing scenes, but overall, I got to understand the characters and their motivations. I felt their pain and sadness (this goes for both the main and side characters).
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
I’m just finishing this series. The main story arc is about Hu Fei, the son of a famous martial artist Hu Yi Dao, who is poisoned while sparring with his sworn brother. Hu Fei looks for his parents’ killer and meets various people along the way, i.e., two women who fall for him among others. A secondary arc is about the sworn brother sparring with Hu Fei’s father, Ren Feng, who inadvertently kills Hu Yi Dao. He is also on a mission to find out who caused his sworn brother’s death. A third arc is about Official Fu, who works for the Emperor, whose plan is to hold an imperial martial artist competition in order to bring down the rebellious martial sects plaguing the Emperor. These three arcs intertwine, bringing the various characters together and also pitting them against one another.
Although it gets draggy in some episodes (too much reminiscing and re-hashing of previously seen scenes in the romance portions only - i didn’t mind the reminiscing of the other scenes involving Hu Yi Dao and Ren Feng), I enjoyed the various motivations for each character and made me empathize with their situation and decisions. I also liked the fighting scenes and I wish there was more of it. The competition had the most interesting fight scenes for me. Personally, I also really liked Ren Feng and wished he was in more scenes.
