I feel very gypped of hugs and kisses. that swordplay scene could have been so much more romantic and longer.
i think it was to show that really ye li was not at the highest skill level in martial arts.....so earlier, she was truly fighting deluded ....chanelling her master...
all said and one, the fight for the palace was brilliant.....excellent choreography....our girl ye li, finally got to fight without her master zhu..... and my man mo jingli totallu delivered on the fights.....his reasoning was shit and he was nuts...but boy, did he fight well....nice....and beautiful three-move strike-down by our hero mxy.....while the ending was very realistic and appropriate and well done....the fight scenes were the stuff of dramas.....so satisfied...

agree.....as an intelligent person, to see incompetent people or less intelligent people wield power is hard....and you are right, men do it all the time and get away with it....when women do it, it goes against the female stereotype.....but i wish her scheming hadn't caused so much unjustifiably bad deaths....if she had fought a rebellion and won the throne, i would totally be on her side....or like the gp in ashes to crown, she had plotted to prevent unnecessary bloodshed.....but here the ed caused very bad deaths....of too many innocent people....
are you forgetting he's mentally hurting too??!?! reminder available in ep. 2....he has spent 8 years being unjustly cripple and being humiliated and hearing, unfairly about the treason of his brother and his army and his own guilt about not being with his brother then....remember what the baby-emperor says to him in ep. 4 or 5 about him being the reason his brother suffered that fate.... again, not saying ye li is alone in the wrong.... 💞
