those who didn't like it: what marks a breaking point for you? I keep hearing people say it went downhill…
I agree with you. I think this is one of those dramas that you have to binge watch few episodes. Waiting for next episode every week will probably kill the curiosity by the 4th week of broadcast. For me it's something different worth watching ,cleverly written and executed but low rewatch value .
I have watched 3 dramas with similar genre -fantasy rom com ie Goblin, Legend of blue sea and Chicago Typewriter. Although all three deal with past life and reincarnation, fate and destiny, Jin Su Wan i.e. Chicago Typewriter 's writer nim won hands down! There's is romance, mystery, layered characters, great pacing and wonderful cast and directing! Blue sea to me is the weakest and I still find Kim Eun Sook 's writing still cheesy . Just my opinion Goblin and Blue Sea lovers - no harm intended. Yoo Ah In and Im Soo Jung great job
This drama is not your typical kdrama,it makes you think . Initially I thought I would have sided with the young couple but towards the end I actually felt sorry for the parents. No doubt they need to change their attitude but these people are born super rich and have been trained generations to behave that way. How can In Sang expect them to change overnight and worse of all, betrayed them? I really empathize with the mom but being a elegant lady she held on and did not betray her hubby in the end. Same as for his closest Secretary Yang. I like Seo Bum initially, however towards the later part I felt she had too much pride. Both in Sang and her are still dependants ,so why not back down and persuade the dad ? But that's just my opinion. There's no right or wrong here. The ending is bittersweet as obviously In Sang still cares for his parents.i felt he should have communicated better with his dad and not just walk away, after all they have fed and raised him till what he is today. But then In Sang was just being an idealistic youth right. I like this writer( he wrote Secret Love affair too) I like the first 20 episodes more than the later one third. The jokes are so funny and the quirky OST tops it all
I am glad I finally watched this! This is the best human robot love drama - I had fun watching and tears too. Best ending to a fantasy drama so far. Great characters and message behind it too.
Jo In Sung's acting in this drama was one of the best I've ever seen. I didn't even like his character…
I agree. Hate the childish Jae Min but JIS made me cry.i literally could feel his heartbreak. Jo In Sung was already so great in acting when he's this young
Love this drama except for the ending ( sorry I am a sucker for sad ending) Jo In Sung was awesome as were all his previous roles but this is the first time I like Song Hye Kyo in a drama. Made me cried buckets , beautiful scenery and great OST too.
Love this drama! Not sure why many find it slow ,I thought the pace was just nice-not too exaggerating nor redundant. It's quite a new and refreshing script. YAI's acting alone is worth watching . Kudos to Im Su Jung and Go Kyung Po too. And of cos not to miss out the awesome OSTs
Great drama! "There are three types of people in this world- man, woman and Mother". So true! Simple drama with strong message - Mana Ashida and Yasuko Matsuyaki were fantastic!
So far So good! The first time watching Yoo Ah In, he got some serious acting skill.
@beautifulswan You should watch YAI's movies then if you find 50 episodes too long- Must watch Veteran, The throne, Punch, tough as Iron ,likes for likes . Don't watch Fashion king - I read too many bad reviews about it
It's not that bad ,the action scenes were movie worthy . It had a solid main cast and I like this a little more than IRIS. The part in Japan and the the ambush that took place at Incheon bridge were very well done! Maybe most felt underwhelmed with the low key romance here
Well written introduction! I started off with Japanese dramas buying DVD those days , long before I get into Korean dramas. One of the reasons I turn to kdramas is the unavailability and inadequate Jap dramas which are subbed for online watching. Recently there are more sites offering Jap dramas ,although old ones are still not HD hence quality not so good. I love J dramas b cause of its creativity, simplicity and poeticism. Some of my favourites are Mother, one litre of tears, Nobunaga concerto, Nodame Cantabile, Boss, Beach Boys , The man who can't marry, Jin etc etc. My favourite actors are Yutaka Takenouchi, Shun Oguri, Hiroshi Abe My favourite actresses are Juno Ueri, Mao Inoue , yasuko matsuyuki
