"the definition of sacrifice is when you choose something over another that's equally important. what i gave up doesn't even come close to being compared with zhou yuan so why would i regret it?"

screaming shaking crying throwing up wei qi the man you are and ning lan too for not wanting lin yan to be confined even if it meant he had to be 😭😭 the romance is sooo lovely

Title Romance of a Twin Flower Spoiler
i’m glad that ji man’s past is getting revealed but i admit that her liking yu xuan all along is not my favourite thing. i feel it kind of cheapens(?) their development. her indifference at the beginning was fun to watch and the best part about her slowly falling for him. so the reveal kind of put her infatuation level in a similar way to wen wan and sang yu which is… not great.

Now it dawns on me why Yuxuan married Sangyu. He'd probably thought Sangyu was Jiman, the girl he met when they…
i have to admit that does seem very plausible but respectfully, i am tired of the childhood trope and think its lazy and overused to hammer in the "fate connection" they have. like there's nothing wrong with meeting and falling in love as adults, writers! πŸ˜‚

What episode she got her memories?? it(s after or before the confession? and her twin is alive? I'm in EP 18
episode 22! beginning of 21 was the confession. everyone believes she's dead but i still personally think there's a twist.

Title Romance of a Twin Flower Spoiler
SHE FINALLY GOT HER MEMORIES BACK! she jumped into the river to attempt to save sang yu but couldn't (i guess due to the shock of seeing how they look exactly alike). they wore the same dress at the time so it makes sense why they were mistaken.

and it turns out ji man also loved yu xuan for years? girl what is this mess 😭

usually secondary couples tend to be annoying/unnecessary but i really love that they all have a purpose here and how their fates are intertwined. interactions between them feels wholesome even when they can't stop bickering hahaha especially the wedding scene and how they helped each other out. πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯Ή + when wei qi told lin yan that she shouldn't feel burdened by the past anymore and the reluctant yet blossoming friendship between the guys. makes it so much more meaningful that after a lifetime of being alone, he now has a group of people by his side.

i wasn't expecting much from the drama but it has been a breath of fresh air so far! on the surface it's like a romcom but the plot seems complex and interesting too. the pacing is also good, not a single dull moment (writing this after episode 8).

i know!! the couples are so adorable πŸ₯° but i thought lin yan likes ml, it's just that because of guilt, she…
i went back and rewatched the last scene with her and ning lan and she did agree saying "it's not called love but wanting to make redemption to him" either way they're not meant to be so i'm glad it's an aspect that i won't have to worry about haha yes the theory really ties the connection between the characters together well so i hope it's true

thank goodness he finally found out because it was getting a bit ridiculous. but the way he looks at her even when he thought she was a man is so soft omg. the chemistry is chemistrying. how beautiful was that dreamlike sequence and lantern scene though?! "you deserve everyone's love" "it doesn't have to be everyone. only one person is enough." 😍😍

i like that lin yan doesn't really have a crush on wei qi and it was actually more of gratitude and guilt that she couldn't save him. no second lead toxicity seems so rare but much appreciated when there isn't. besides, i'm enjoying her and ning lan's dynamic. it's so interesting that they both have similar fates of having "unusual" talents.

can it be that the matchmaking god was ml's brother-in-law who died? i don't think wei qi would forget what he looked like but it may be possible or it's an act of magic. if it's true then it would be a great twist but so sad knowing it's unlikely to end with a happy reunion.

the first 4 episodes was so fun!! loving the relationship between our leads already (guy who's used to being alone and the girl who won't stop bothering him is my catnip + them being tied together by the string of fate is the cherry on top). her identity as a "man" is absurd especially when she doesn't make the effort to look or act like one but it was still cute seeing him get jealous hahaha.

also love his family, the matchmaking god and the bandit apprentice. we really need more platonic friendships between men and women. the secondary romances looks promising too.

one of the things i'm grateful for is that this drama aired shortly after the hot mess that was chong zi and painted jeremy tsui in a better light. it's proof that the fault doesn't often lie with the actor but rather the shitty writing. his facial expressions and eyes alone deserve an award. truly a natural comedian.
