BYEEE not the rock climbing scene making it around twitter and getting hate 😭😭 omg GWIA get behind me you don't deserve this like pls yes it's absurd but the whole drama is unserious so people need to lighten up
idk why i suddenly thought of this since it’s been awhile since i last read it but the thought of seeing it is making me giggle
i hope we get the scene of sang yan coaxing little sang zhi to approach wen yi fan to pretend she “can’t find her brother” but ended up losing all composure bc wyf is too pretty 🤭🤭
the final father x daughter scene was so beautifully done. props to xu hai qiao and zhao li ying because they absolutely KILLED it. you can feel all their emotions just from their eyes alone. she really looked like an innocent little girl there + when he pushed her away but she still grabbed onto him last minute knowing she won't be able to again. 😭😭😭
I don't think it's a novel. I think it's an original screenplay by Tong Hua.
sorry haha i was just poking fun in regards to censorship taking a hold of the drama and turning everything happening into "a novel written by the main lead" since usually fantasy and sci-fi elements aren't allowed
i can understand the confusion with her memory loss but i hope it doesn't mean a split personality to go with it. i thought i got rid of my weird vibes from her but idk it's still lowkey there like am i being sensitive or what??? is she really just cautious and protective of him or is there more to it? even so, i'm sure he's capable of his own decisions and feelings so it feels like overstepping on her part. this girl giving me whiplash fr.
zhang miao yi is not sang zhi but yi fan's friend?? that's interesting though i think she's suited for the role so i'm happy if it's the former but if it's the latter that means speculation will still be crazy like can they just put us out of our misery 😭😭
i feel conflicted. was this an exception to me rarely loving xianxias??? not necessarily but it wasn't completely without it's charms. i think the pacing suffered a bit which made me lose interest in the plot. however, the most enjoyable and entertaining part was when they played in to the comedic aspects. it was genuinely funny and what stood out to me. LGX in particular was expressive even with a non-expressive character. interestingly enough, what i loved and was immersed in was when they were just simply spending time together in the mortal realm. nothing really happening but the mundane moments was what made me sold on their chemistry.
while i did find it a little boring most of the time, the last arc was done well. emotional and heartfelt so kudos to the actors involved!! i have to say it had one of the best endings for a xianxia in a long while (considering their track record lmao). when they were reunited, i had to do a double take to see my eyes weren't deceiving me. the "WTF???" i exclaimed when i saw there was still another episode to go left me utterly speechless. in fact, i think the last episode wasn't even needed but it served as a fluff epilogue which i very much appreciated. our shenxing couple was so unserious when acting as a matchmaker lol but it was great to have one last laugh as a goodbye + her pregnancy. going to miss them. 🥹🥰 ❤️
hey you can check out my review of TLYGM if you want to compare! https://kisskh.at/723145-the-love-you-give-me#comment-13169429 but overall GWIA was much more lighthearted while TLYGM had more complex characterisation that you can clearly see that many viewers are divided on :)
idk but i find their little hand thing so endearing and romantic like a way to say "i got your back" 🥹🥹 those acts may be small but what i love when it comes to relationship development
i wasn't expecting much but i saw wang zi qi + zhang yu xi + romcom with a ✨sprinkle✨ of thriller?? and was like sign me tf up!!
while it wasn't groundbreaking, it's take on usual genre and tropes was refreshing. their beginning dynamic had a mr and mrs smith vibe to it but i quickly realised it wasn't overly toxic or intense. it wasn't the fact they did things without remorse for the other and only to accomplish a goal. they didn't do anything harmful or questionable to the other which i loved. of course without a doubt the sexual tension and chemistry was still there. 👀🔥
they definitely put the com in romcom, it was genuinely funny. the humour felt organic and not at all forced. i liked how unserious and self aware they were at times which made it so fun to watch. no love triangles, no overly annoying characters, no dull or draggy moments, no unnecessary drama or breakups and actual(!!) communication between the leads which is sadly rare in dramaland. the supporting cast had their own charm and was friendship goals!!
it was a true romcom with a decent balance between thriller. amazing chemistry, full of sweetness and heartwarming scenes, only negative is i thought the "villain" was a little one dimensional, sometimes logic is thrown outside the window.
although at first i was miffed about the censorship angle, it doesn't take away my overall enjoyment of the drama and thought the ending was still cute with the editor x writer dynamic. i'm going to miss these bunch of goofballs so much. 🥺❤️
the accomplice be doing a little too much that it's kinda laughable tbh especially when you don't get the backstory beyond "well he helped me so i'll just spend the rest of my life killing everyone because he said so!!" like huh???? lmao
jung soo in best girl!!! <3
